There is no such a word to describe how thankful I am to have you as one of my best friends. When I was feelin' blue and tears almost came out yesterday, you kinda put your hand on my lap. At that particular moment, I knew for a fact that I wasnt, am not, and will never be alone.
Thank you for all the love you give, your caring, your understanding. Jeab, Tangkwaa and I want you to know that, you mean the world to us, and no matter what happens, we are friends and will always be.
Happy Birthday :-)
Thank You, Friend
Thank you, friend, for all the things That mean so much to me-- For concern and understanding You give abundantly.
Thanks for listening with your heart; For cheering me when I'm blue; For bringing out the best in me; And just for being you.
Thanks for in-depth conversation That stimulates my brain; For silly times we laugh out loud; For things I can't explain.
For looking past my flaws and faults; For all the time you spend; For all the kind things that you do, Thank you; thank you, friend.
Changes in ThailandFriends 3rd Annual Charity Event
13 December 2009, 4:59 PM
Dear all
I am writing to inform you of some changes in the 3rd annual charity event.
Instead of visiting Baan Nontapum (Home for Children with Disabilities; http://www.nontapum.com/en/index.htm) on December 27th as planned, Aom and I decided to change the plan. Details are as follows:
1) December 27th, 09: We will take 30 children with multiple disabilities and 10 carers out to see the sunflower field in Lop Buri province, which takes about 1.5 hours from Bangkok.
The reason why we would like to do this;
The painting above was nicely and beautifully created by Mr Chatchawaan Am-pai. Due to his disabilities, he has to use his mouth to carry a paintbrush and paint this. Aom and I asked him whether he had seen the sunflower field before. He said "never". He painted this using his own imagination, with hope that, one day, he would be able to visit the real place and feel the real field.
It is not only Mr Chatchawaan Am-pai, who does not have a chance to visit any places out there like we do, there are still loads of children with multiple disabilities who have never been to any other places in their lives due to their multiple handicaps. Aom and I are just thiking, if there is anything we can do to fulfil their dreams, we will definitely do it, wont you?
Aom and I will be arranging one big coach for 50 people (30 children with multiple handicaps, 10 carers, plus 10 TFers who would like to go with the kids 觩Һ) and a van for 12 people. Those who are going with us, either by coach or by van, would HAVE TO pay 200 baht; this would cover the van rental fees, plus petrol. The rest would be donated to Baan Nontapum and Baan Rachawadee (Home for Children with Multiple Handicaps).
We will leave Bangkok at 9 am SHARP, and we will be visiting the sunflower field, plus Baan Gerda, Home for HIV-infected orphans. More details are to be announced later on, once Aom and I are able to come up with a fixed schedule.
Come and join us, take these kids out to fulfill their dreams. I know that, for some of you guys, it doesnt sound like a big thing, but for those kids, believe me it really does mean a lot to them.
2) (Saturday) January 9th, 2010 (The National Children's Day): We will again visit Baan Nontapum and Baan Rachawadi. This time, we will be donating all the money raised to these two organizations. Interested in joining us? Kindly double-click on the following link:
This event is held in order to donate funds plus any other useful goods to Baan Nontapum (Home for Children with Disabilities).
For 39 years, Baan Nontapum has taken care of hundreds of children with multiple disabilities. The home provides these children with accommodation, food plus education. Most of the children living here are homeless, abandoned, or orphaned children aged from 7 to 18 years old, and children from troubled families.
What can be donated to these kids?
Money
Wheelchairs
Sacks of rice, cooking oil, sugar, fish sauce, soy sauce, eggs, milk
Clothing (normal clothes and underwear)
Things you use on a daily basis, for example; soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, washing powder, etc.
Basic types of medicine
How are we going to raise funds to help these children?
Aom and I agreed that the Weekly Voting for Charity was pretty successful, so yes we are going to do it again. Be prepared as details are coming out later on which week we are going to start.
Give me a shout if you have some other ideas how to raise funds. Looking forward to hearing from you soon, and of course see you on December 27!!
To those who signed up for my event on September 26
As asked by Admin, as he sees that his birthday party is more important than my event lol, I do apologize to say that I have to postpone my event on September 26 to October 10 instead. The venue might be changed, still figuring out where else we can go and have fun. Will definitely keep you informed. By the way, Admin, you are definitely NOT welcome to my party cos you made me postpone mine hahahaha
I was hoping that I would get home before midnight, and wish you a very happy birthday right on time, just like what I did last year. However, I got home after 2 am. Hope its not too late to wish you a very happy birthday.
Sassy, I would like to take this opportunity to wish you joy, happiness and success in everything you do. I know that you might be thinking through a lot of things at the moment. I just want you to know that, I am here to listen and to support you whenever you need, always.
I first met you on December 28, 2006. Back then, you were a medical student, still. Now, you ARE a doctor, and also, it is your birthday today, I therefore would like to wish you joy, happiness and success in the future.
