He's a great technician... and very fluent. But really, there's nothing original in his playing... or what he plays...and very little dynamics.

Personally, I would rather hear less accuracy and more real heart and real emotion in a guitar player. But thats just personal taste. He does have a great sound though

Kinda with P'marc on this, give me Dave Gilmour (pink floyd) anyday, a far better guitarist than I'll ever be, but not technically as good as say, tom morello (rage against the machine), but try and play his stuff with the feeling he somehow applies.....

ive have been a guitarist for since i was 10...now im 40 and i play this style....Joe Satriani,Steve Vai and Van Halen were my inspiration and to play these riffs takes hours of practice everyday....its all basic scales but instead of picking each note you hammer the string on the fret board which gives the speed........not one of Joes best songs
