Thai Visa in Cambodia...

Rate this Entry
Just went to Phnom Penh.
1. There are NO 2x entry visa's if you walk into the embassy. I asked the Officer in Thai he told me those are only offered in Laos.
2. They ask you to WAIT 4 DAYS. I got there Wed, the officer told me MONDAY... I politely asked in Thai if it can be done Fri because I am leaving Saturday. He said ok. There is a guy out on the street who says he can get it for you the next day. Had a chat with him after I got my passport back, he was very nice. (I didn't need to use his services because I was getting my visa back on Friday.)

Traveling:
Took a flight from BKK to Phnom Pen via Air Asia. Had Flamingo Hotel pick me up (otherwise Taxi $9 Tuk Tuk $7) Flamingo SUCKED. Dirty bedsheets, floor, hair on towels, loud street room, nothing there was worth $25. Walk around the area and you can find $10 - $17 hotels with better room. I like the fancy guest house. Check out the $17 room, clean, wi-fi, nice bed... etc.

Rented a motorbike 250cc offroad Honda for $12 a day went to Sihanoukville. On the way there I took Routr 4. All highways are 2 lane roads. Route 4 is the way to go, if you are taking a car you will have to pay toll. Cambodian Drivers/Motorbikes are far worse than Thai. Just plain flipping retarded. On the way back took Route 3. DO NOT TAKE THAT ROAD. It is a giant pot-hole. Even on a motor-cross bike driving through gravel, dust and incoming traffic on one lane roads is not fun. Also there are too many little towns where the local residents like to test your brakes... unfortunately for them my bike didn't come with any.

Got my 2 month single entry visa. On the way out Cambodian airport charged me $25 airport TAX... WTF!

Glad to be home. Guess who I saw on my way aroung town?

This was the water festival that resulted in tradgedy. Fortunately went home before the whole thing happened. It was just too crowded.

This pic doesnt even begin to show how crowded it was.

The museum wasn't bad at all!

The bird and it's prey

Poverty at it's ugliest.

Walking around

And here is the ruins that are rather popular on the beach...

The beach

Cambodian Airport employees earning their $25 airport tax

I wish I took more pics of the beach, and the crazy motorcycle journey but I simply forgot because I was having such a great time. I want to thank Kunny again for showing  snookyville again.

Cool trip. I had the same 3 business day (you had 4 but same same) thing. Why does it take them longer than any other Thai embassy in the world?

In my previous experiences doing visa stuff Thai Consulates in PP and HK were the worst. I did once in PP that was 2yrs ago the embassy staff did not even care to see the papers I submitted!

Airport tax in Thailand is the same, but they just add it to the ticket these days.

Loli- :P Hey you, want this?

Admin - Yes, although I have to say Philippines was by far the WORST one. NEVER EVER GO TO MANILA FOR ANYTHING lol

    SMS - you are welcome

JapAm - Kunny is a doll. Just have to keep an eye on her. I am glad I didn't go to the bridge either.

Soda - Compared to the last 2 I had... ABSOLUTELY

Querida - I think it changed from 2 years ago. The service was not bad, as I said b4... the worst service I got was in Manila, closely followed by the embassy in Perth that closed without warning and the embassy that I sent my passport to in WA that lost the passport.

SBI - Yes. No further answers

Beej - I think air asia charged me 2x then. Have to check but lazy over $25.

    King - Yes, freaking paradise!

sounds like you had more luck than when you were here in Perth!
