If you do not need to go fast from the airport, you also can take the normal rapid urban train (also stops at Landstrasse station where the CAT does for changing to the Underground - you will need line No. 3 - orange - and go to Westbahnhof - Western Train Station, which is direction Ottakring - my home district). In this case, for 3,60 Euro per person, you can go from the airport to your hotel, you just will have to buy a ticket for 2 zones (not in the train, there, it is more expensive, but there are ticket vending machines in the area of every station). The name is Schnellbahn and the sign looks like this: . While the CAT takes 16 minutes, the Schnellbahn will take about 30-40 minutes depending on how many stops it has.

Hi Kus! Concerning your question, you will need two tickets: The first one for the City Airport Train (10 Euro one way, 18 Euro for a return ticket) and then you can go with one ticket (1,80 Euro) with Underground and tram. As long as you don't go back and forth, one ticket inside Vienna is good for a trip as long as you need. It depends on how long you stay and how many people you are, but there is a 24hrs, a 48hrs and a 72hrs Vienna Ticket but you also should compare prices with the Ecology Ticket (Umweltkarte). The latter gives you eight days of travelling within whole Vienna, you can use it e.g. 8 (different, not necessarily consecutive!) days long only for you or 2 days for four people or 4 days for two people...). The price is 28,80 Euro if I remember well. (part 2...)
