It's a trip I'd recommend to anyone. Not exactly fun but very thought provoking and a very moving experience

You should go to the southern bus terminal and take the bus to Kanchanaburi. The bus will drop you in Kanchanaburi town and then ask a taxi/tuk-tuk driver to take you to the bridge. It's about 10 mins from the town centre.

yeah only 1.5 hours by bus ,,, by train might be 3-4 hours ... im not sure
