Things you like and dis-like about bkk

Well....since I'm contemplating making the move to BKK, and I'm on another insomnia binge, I thought I would throw this out as my fist ever post!

I've travelled to BKK many times before for work. Normally my stays lasted between 4-6 weeks. My longest stay was a 3 month stint. So I'm pretty familiar to, certain extent, about what day to day life in BKK is like. But I have to believe living there year round is a completely different animal. So with that in mind I would like to hear from the expats...or even the Thais that have lived overseas and moved back to bkk.....

What do you like most and dislike most about BKK compared to your day to day life back in your home country....

this is my second time living here and i am still learning and evolving. I dont really 'hate' anything here (although a few things do get me down), but i do love many things. Living here long term is definately different from just staying a few months. Also, it depends how u gonna live that will determine what u love or hate here. Eg, if ur on a big salary and can live high, or if ur running ur own business but dont have too much in savings etc. Different lifestyles will have different issues. It also depends just how much u assimilate into 'thai', how many quality thai connections and friends you make, or how much you live a 'farang' life here. Whatever way you choose, if you stay here long term, one thing is certain - it will change you forever.

There are too many things I like about BKK to mention, but the 2 main things I dislike are the weather and traffic.
I like spending time outdoors, but in BKK I don't feel comfortable staying outside too long because of the heat.
