Coming Features

I wanted to sort of throw this out there so people didn't think we haven't heard them. I'll keep this sort of an updated list of what we're working on (that we can talk about) so you have some idea of what's coming, what we're already aware of, and whether or not we'll ever get around to it :-)

There's more than what's listed here. I just wanted to get the first wave out of my head on on the site. If you see something missing, let me know.

Affiliates If you have a website or want to market TF to people we're going to be setting up a system to let you make money off of that.

Thai translations Anybody who wants to help is free to jump in. If you see an email, FAQ, or anything on the site that is in English and you know it's Thai equivalent let us know and we'll make it available. This will be ongoing until we get everything translated.

iPhone and Android Applications Not sure exactly when as the development is being done by the guys at vBulletin but they have a product in beta that I've been able to use on their forums and I think people will enjoy having it.

Better support for browsing on smartphones The current "stable" version of vBulletin's software supports sending a very lightweight version of the site to mobile phones so you don't have to download all of the images, CSS, and HTML that you do when you browse from a computer. I haven't installed this new version yet because I like to stay one version behind so all of the bugs get discovered by others first :-)

PS: I've closed this thread because I want people to be able to find this info quickly and easily. Some of the informational threads start getting 10 or 20 pages which makes them difficult to navigate. I'll just keep updating this thread as things change.

Kisses: Looking into it but we will probably bring it back along with something like giving beers. I've already started playing around with the idea a bit so it's just a matter of getting the time to crank it out.

Better Homepage Sort on Blogs: Now you will only see the last blog post for a particular member.

Reminding people to upload a profile pic when they get their email confirmation Mostly a usability thing. We're getting roughly the same number of overall signups as before but you had to upload a profile pic before sending emails or posting. A lot of people are forgetting to do that so they don't show up in the new members list.

Even though we said we weren't going to bring back voting we have but with a twist.

Voting: Unless I run across something that totally kicks the old voting's *** this will probably not make it back on TF. Many former vote whores agree on this one that back in 2003 it might have been cool but in 2011 it's old and has lost a lot of the fun it had before. There are also fundamental issues with what people are even voting for which make it one of those things that unless we can do it 1000% better than it is now, it's probably not worth bringing back.

I'm marking these both completed as the work has been mostly completed. Tweaking will be forthcoming but for now this should get people most of the way there.

Adding additional search fields to simple search Still working out which ones but . . . coming.

Search results page We want this to look a little bit more like the Who's Online results page.
