I seriously don't know how to embed the youtube video, so here's the link
OK, this commercial has been on-air for quite a while now. To summerize, the man was pointing to the two fish that reflect the combination of two colors; fair and pink. But the way he said it in Thai also means that the thing or the person has a fair and pink skin, which is commonly perceived as a desirable color of women's skin. Anyway, the feedback of the ad wasn't great. Then, recently, the release this print ad in BTS, it's a sign attached to the window that says 'seats reserved for 'white' people only.'
Frankly, I wasn't offended by the ad so much because, like all advertisement, they want to create impact, making their product becomes the talk of the town. But in the past few day, I've seen my friends posting this ads and criticized it big time, on Facebook and Twitter and other forum. So my question is why does it tricker ppl to act against it so much, since there are many ad that encourage ppl to appreciate white and pink skin (i.e. Ponds) ? Is it because of the way the ad was too obvious? Or because ppl have had enough of these message?
p.s. I was trying to find the picture of the ad on BTS but doun't find one. I guess they removed it.

to be able to embed, make sure you have enhanced posting enabled.
To do this click on settings, general settings, and then under miscellaneous you can select "enhanced settings."
Save that shiat and you'll be a super poster in no time.

Well, frankly, you should be offended.
It's yet another nail in the coffin of ignorance.

I think it's just too blatant. I mean people see skin whitening commercials everyday and don't cause a stink about it. But when it's blatant, people suddenly want to look morally superior and get all red shirt about it.

@PiAnt
I understand your point of view, but what i'm trying to say is that talking about this ad, either positively or negatively, would encourage people to see that ad and they will remember that ad because people talk so much about it. The most efficient way to respond, in my opinion, is to ignore. Once people stop criticizing and talking about it, the ad would die down. Wouldn't taking it as a grain of salt be a better approach, you think?

The people on BTS did not see the ad. All they say was "reserved for white people". It is pretty racist.

That does not work for posting yuotube videos for most people. You have to use this line of code, substituting the red for the video you want to post, using the share button on yuotube to get the right code.
"" (take the space out after the word "video", and the space after "http:" then it will embed, I had to add those spaces so this would not embed).

This ads is obviously a lie, cuz most Thais naturally have yellow undertone skin, not pink undertones no matter how many stupid drinks they consume.
