Apartment Needed

I live in Kamphaengphet now, but moving to Bangkok in February. Need to find a one bedroom or studio within walking distance of the BTS. I do not need a fancy place, I am a basic person who needs a bed and a hot shower, I am rarely home. Any help would be appreciated, I have lived in Thailand 5 years but do not know BKK. Always lived in the north. thanks for any suggestions. You can send me a message

Hmmm...if you don't get any direct leads, you might want to get a hotel for a couple of days, take the skytrain to On Nut, and just have a stroll around. There are rooms for 4 to 5,000 b/m around there. If you want a bit nicer place for the same price, check out the song taew routes that bring you down a kilometer or two away from the BTS. A bit less convenient, but it won't be such a dump.

Thanks for the info, I know On Nut from seeing it on the BTS map but not really sure of song taew routes, but I will check into it, bye the way a change from the reply, but can you recommend a company for wifi. I do not use an Ipad because I like my laptop because of the programs I need are not available for an Ipad

Would sort of be the same, wouldn't it? Don't most of the 3G data packages come with wifi on their hotspots? I know True and AIS do that.

You can buy a 3G USB modem for about 3000 baht. Slap in the 3G card and you're ready to go. Or you could go for a WiFi only package but that may or may not be reachable from your apartment.

Either way you decide to go, I think the easiest route is to just get True. Go to one of their offices and tell them what you need and get the combination of WiFi and 3G that works for you.

There are other providers but True definitely has the best 3G coverage in Bangkok (there is almost no 3G coverage outside of Bangkok) and they have a lot of WiFi hotspots in BKK and around the country.

20,000 if it is within walking distance of bts I sold my car when I moved to BKK, I stay in a long stay hotel for know but it sucks not having a place to call home. I do not want serviced, I can clean my own apartment.

But that means going out and getting to one of those hotspots...or did you mean turning your phone into a hotspot? I liked having both a home wifi connection plus a 3G plan because it gave me access as often as possible. Some people just get home wifi, and don't care too much about getting internet while waiting in a taxi.

Jesus. 20k can get a very nice non-serviced place around On Nut. For some reason, I thought you were looking in the more ghetto ranges...like 5k or something like that.
