We went down to Assumption Church on Christmas Eve and it was pretty fun. They had sort of a church fair going on with games and prizes. Of course, there was food.
Assumption is a really nice church. I did notice that there was no aircon in the chapel so I imagine it can get pretty hot though
I plugged in my iPad the other day to sync with my computer and I got a notice that I could begin using the iPad's lost/stolen location services which had been available as a paid service for free. Proving once and for all that they will allow absolutely any idiot to get behind the wheel of a vehicle in Thailand, I was issued a Thai drivers license today. I thought I would share my experience for others considering braving the streets of Bangkok in control of a motor vehicle.
First off, the required documentation:
Passport
A valid visa (more on this later)
A signed photo copy of your passport mug shot page and your visa page from your passport
Your Farangland drivers lic

About a month ago I went down and purchased an iPad down at MBK. I knew the iPad was supposed to be released here in Thailand soon but at that point nobody seemed to know when "soon" would be. At first it was the end of October which came and went. Then it was supposed to be the end of November which (at the time) was approaching though there were no official reports of an upcoming date.
In the end, I paid a whopping 1000 baht more than what they retail for via the official Apple shops.
