Travelling at Songkran

I think most people are aware that using the roads at Songkran can be a hazardous activity, with drunk driving and reckless water throwing. Motorcyclists especially need to be aware, and for this holiday period, I will be opting for a saferform of transport.Whatever you do, follow my advice...Be safe and be sensible.

Temple cats

There are 2 little cats that live in Prasat Phanom Wan about 15km from the centre of Korat, and whenever I go to Korat I make an effort to go and see these cats and take them some food. i think they must have grown up a bit now and I haven't been back to Korat for a few months. Anyway, I'll be riding down there tomorrow from BKK and will be hoping to find them well and still happily playing around in these beautiful and quiet Khmer ruins. If you are ever passing that way, visit this place and

New Year's Party in UK - now with added sheep.

Well, another year arrives and I am on vacation in England at my family home.  I thought I would share some photos of the crowds who came out in our village to welcome in the new year.  It was one crazy party, that's for sure.... I've added some pics of sheep for the Punisher, as he asked for them. 5 Jan 07

Yesterday

A couple of interesting things happened yesterday, or rather I saw a couple of interesting sights.... The first one tells us something about the state of English education in Thai universities.  I saw this at a graduation day celebration. The second was an interesting sight in the beer garden at Nana.  The foot behind the gentleman's head is his own left foot.  Neat trick. Have a nice day, everyone.

Late - Party Pics.

I'm sorry that these are late, they took a while to polish up. But hope you can remember some of the happy evening. Do you see yourself? If so, PM me and I'll send you a copy. Also, for the professional photographers, if you want to know aperture information etc, I'll be happy to discuss.

For some lovely people

Yesterday's party at Absolute 7 brought together a really nice group of people and had one of the nicest atmospheres of any TF party I have been to. So thank you everyone for making yesterday so much fun.....    By the way, I know this picture is not clear (actually none of them are razor-sharp) but what is going on here????

Mickey Mouse shorts

What is it with the popularity of what I call 'Mickey Mouse' shorts in this country.  However, I acquired myself a pair in Lopburi today, and I must say I am very satisfied with them.

Dreams crushed

I was promised a class of Chula girls to teach next week, maybe about 11 of them. Now it seems they will actually be 15 or 16 year old school girls. They raise you up and then they let you fall back down with a sickening crash. Oh well, could be worse...

TF lies

Or, a malicious technical glitch; or, bad maths; but I can't be 40 already. Surely... Can it be true???

One vote today

It's funny how quickly one drops out of the public eye if you have neither the time nor opportunity to go online and write or be visible on TF. My busy life goes on, awake as the sky is still filled with rich hues of red and home after it is has been dark for several hours. I am finding time goes so fast though. My days are rushing by, well, all except for my 6 hours at the second largest oil company here on Fridays, which drags like there is a lead weight tied around it. But life goes on an

Uninspiring day

Not sure what to do. If I don't come up with something soon, I'm going to go out and buy a new laptop. Can anybody save me from this extravagent and delightfully unnecessary expense? I'm open to offers. Who's also bored this afternoon?

It's getting big

258 members on line now - 13 pages of them. There never used to be this many even in my short history. Too many for me to send shallow, speculative emails too. So, if you would like one of my shallow, speculative emails, please PM me, and I will send one.

I'm rehabilitated

Having served my time and paid my debt to society, I am let loose in the world again and can once again be voted for in the one's and two's that used to trickle in before. Ahh, the sweet smell of fresh air... Come one, come all! I am unburdened of my yellow shackles and am free to play...

The future's bright, the future's yellow.

I appear to have added a new colourful decoration to my profile, not entirely without justification, I might add, and I am not complaining about it. Do stop by to visit my new decorative accessory, and don't forget to vote once they remove it. Have a good weekend everyone, and be good.

A new lifestyle

Or: End of the Somtam days Or: I need a maid. I used to work quite hard. My job involves me travelling around to various companies in and around Bangkok and teaching the staff. Mainly business English. And I did ok at it. I was pretty busy but I always had time to go home during the day, get my things done and sometimes spend an hour or two in the sun eating my chicken and somtam. But not anymore. Now I am a nine-to-five guy. I have a desk in the offices of a very large Thai company and

Research need...

A leading research group has asked for data concerning the dating habits of females in the 20 to 25 age group. Respondents are required in this age group, amongst people who are single, sexually active, and looking for partners in the short to medium term. if you think you are in this category, please let me know and I will forward more details about the survey. Technical disclaimer: The following terms are included for jurisdictional reasons. None of the above should be deemed to have any

A popo or two

I'm not the best photographer in the world (for good pics talk to Undercover), and I found these old party pics but i seem to have missed the faces in all of them. So I really cannot say who they are, but maybe you will enjoy them anyway. Legal disclaimer: These popos are fictitious and any resemblance to real popos is purely coincidence and not the responsibility of the photographer.

The Good Life

What is the Good Life? I'm being headhunted for a big job in London, but prefer to sit in the sun and play dominoes whilst drinking Singha beer and eating Somtam. What would you do?

I've not been on line much recently. been pretty busy with lots of things. But here's an update of some highlights. I bought some yogurts today (a pack of 4 actually, strawberry) I got an insect stuck on my glasses. Hmm, that's about it really. Until next time....
