Had to leave the house at 4am this morning to get into work, it was -8°C
It didn't help that the heating system on my train was playing up all day - either too hot or nothing at all...
Life is just not fair
What a year it has been, everything was going alright until Christmas. Then I lost an Aunt and a Cat, and I miss them both.
To top it all, I have to be in bed tonight by 10pm. Got to be in work tomorrow morning (New Year's Day) at 5am Life sucks, but hopefully 2009 will sort it out!
Had a bloody amazing weekend over in Reykjavik, what a stunning place that is. The people are amazingly friendly, wish London was more like that.I can actually see myself moving there if I had the money, beautiful houses and beautiful ladies. Amazing the number of asian women there! Anyhow, the convention I went to increased the population of Iceland by 0.5% lol
Start work at 20.24 this evening and finish 04.24 (yeah weird hours I know!!). Going to be shunting trains around my depot, coupling and uncoupling and stick them through a massive train washing machine!! FUN FUN FUN - not!!No doubt there will be vomit inside the trains as per normal, even on a Sunday night... I wonder, do you get much vandalism, vomit etc. on public transport over there in Thailand? Might have to make a forum posting

Past 2 weeks I been having back pain which I have tried working through. Felt like it was a muscular pain, so I kept going in to work.
However today I had to goto the doc's as I was starting to get pain down my right leg. Turns out I have slipped a disc, depending on tomorrow's x-ray I will either be allowed to go back to work or flat out for next 4 week (at least). Hoping to go back to work on light shifts - lol
Just as I been put on a disciplinary at work for having 1 day off sick in past 6 months (yes, pathetic I know and I have appealed against it), I am off sick again...
My doctor has told me I have got Gastroenteritis and cannot go to work for 48 hours to cut down risk of me giving it to anyone else..... Oh well, let see what my managers say when I go back on Sunday!
As you folks know, London had a bloody close call yesterday. Again people tried to bomb up members of the general public, thankfully the main explosives in the devices all failed to detonate (from initial reports). I thoughts go out to the people hurt and the emergency services who have to deal with these types of incidences - not just in London, but all over the world.

Off work today, so I thought I would go for a walk down in my local park. That is when it happened!!!!!!
Picture the scene: Me in a park with several lakes, I happened to have a load of swan food with me and I was with my lovely mum! (love ya mum).
Now picture me walking to a large pond with two swans in...
Now picture one of the swans jumping out of the water hissing and flapping all over the place as I am trying to get a load of food out of the bag.

What a night at work last Tuesday! Taken me this time just to relax and collect my thoughts! Here's what happened:
Working late shift, basic it's nighttime and quite dark! I was driving my train quite happily, just departed a station and accelerating up towards linespeed. Just as I reached 45mph, I hear a LOUD bang, then several more occured. Next thign I know I has dusty and grains hitting the side of my head. When I look at my windscreen, I see it's been shattered!!

I have had problems with my knees since I played Rugby, looks like my left knee is going bad again. Constantly hurting at the moment and has collasped twice in past week!
Hell of a thing to happen, I cannot even begin to imagine what some of the people from the Asian regions are going through. I sure hope my country gets it finger out of it's butt and send aid ASAP - be it food, materials, money or manpower!

Only just brought myself around to say this. A couple of weeks ago I injured my knee - actually did a good job at it too! The story goes like this!
Standing outside my depot building, it was nice sunny weather and I was wearing shorts and a t-shirt! A wasp appeared in front of me, now I hate wasps with a passion! So I stepped backwards, but this thing followed me with an evil glint in it's eye! I jumped backwards.....................

I have strapped my toes together (read previous posting) and am going to try getting down the gym. Though if my foot starts hurting too much, I might give it a slight miss.
I currently weigh 17.5 stones (245 lbs - 111 Kg) and I want to lose a bit of it. Get back down to 16 or 15.5 stone. Though I mainly want to lose a bit of my waistline - too many good night's and my job involves me sitting on my butt for most of the day!
I start work tonight - at 18:41 (6.41pm GMT). Going to be taking hoime the lovely people of London, wonder what can go wrong tonight... How many sleepers will I find on my train when I just to the final station!!
