Gor is in jail!

I have just read about that the day before yesterday, it was such a surprise. I remember 2 years ago when I started thinking of coming to live in Thailand his website was one of the first I've found when looking for a book on learning thai. And in fact I didn't use so much Gor's learning material as much as read all about the interviews on his drug usage and teenage life in Bangkok. The serie of interviews were conducted by his former english teacher, who has become a friend of his family and he

No More Blues (Chega De Saudade)

Harmonica - Chega De Saudade This journal entry just to show that my last journal entry (about Thailand's national anthem) wasn't disrespectful, it's just an old habit of mine to play on video with something on my head. And also because I like this music so I thought maybe some of you will like it too and if you do then go to YouTube.com and search for "CHEGA DE SAUDADE" to hear it being played by several musicians, amateurs and professionals. There are brazilian (portuguese) and english ver

Can you crack this riddle?

This is an odd paragraph. It is grammatically sound, and contains no unusual vocabulary. You will not find any hints by looking at word counts or starts to words, though finding out what is so odd about it is not a hard task. I should not say any hints, but will add that not giving up is important. Good luck!

That's a long day!

Yesterday it was a very good day, very long, I woke up early (6) in the morning (I'm not usually a morning person) and I went straight to gym. Considering I went to bed at 2 in the morning, that's quite an achievement.  So everybody was in Yellow, nice to see, before going to the gym I took my breakfast, some thai soup with noodle, not really the typical french breakfast! Then after workout and fresh shower I took BTS and went somewhere I don't know, after victory monument, because it was the

Some music I play on the harmonica

I discovered Thailand's national anthem in BTS at 18h (when everybody froze I thought for a split second I was entering the Twilight Zone) and then I looked for it on the web to play it on the harmonica, but I haven't done a video yet, I have other videos on dailymotion.com you can find them all starting with this one:http://www.dailymotion.com/visited/alliax/video/xhfqr_harmonica-bluesette-toots-thieleman  If you can't find the other tell me and I'll copy the links here.

Lots of things happened, but..

...I can't tell. Every day is lots of fun, even when I do nothing, since I do have to go out to eat, it's always fun, it's nearly a month I've been here and I'm not tired of just being in the street and looking around. In one month I haven't visited anything, except for the Baiyoke tower and some entertainment venues near my place. And didn't travel. At one point my farang friends went to Pattaya but I didn't come because I didn't want the resulting issue and because I like to just stay in Bangk

I did go back to Seacon Square but...

I wake up late, waited for the bus 206 to come (in fact when I arrived at the bus stop I saw the 206 leaving so had to wait about half an hour..) I paid 16 bahtsfor an aircon bus, so I don't know if yesterday I made a mistake about the bus costing 15 bahts or if things have changed in one day. Anyway my plan was to go to a restaurant inside and then call the thailandfriends member, but when I was in the restaurant nothing worked, no sms and no call. So I gave up and when I finished I went to

Bus 206 to SeaCon Square.

Yes, today I took the bus number 206 to go to SeaCon Square where I met a very nice member of ThailandFriends who lives just accross the street. The bus to go was packed with people, it was with aircon, but still I'd better not move and breath calmly if I don't want the sweat to begin flowing, it lasted about half an hour maybe less I don't like buses when I have to stand up, and it costed 15 Bahts. When I came back I took a bus still 206 not as packed and without aircon but it was nighttime

How to make a thai girl laugh?

Today I stumbled upon this article and found it interesting, at least original, about how to make a thai girl laugh, it's a bit light and perhaps aimed at FARANG BOYS to give them some suggestions, I don't know if you think this is true or not, but I didn't know about the GUAVA fruit being called FARANG as well, I give you the link below because the blog may (or may not) have useful things for some of you reading this page:http://www.leftofme.com/how-to-make-a-thai-girl-laugh/ Here's the bulk of

I've been to Baiyoke II

So, I've been there, seen it all and ATE EVERYTHING!! http://www.baiyoke.co.th/baiyokesky/panoramic.htmlIt's not that expensive this is true, BUT at first I came it was 19h40 and they said it cost over 900 bahts for Roof view + buffet, but after 20h00 it's 470 per person, so we checked in at 20h06 :-) It's romantic, but I was with one of my farang friends, a male too, so we resisted kissing until the end of the night! Anyway, the food was excellent because there wasn't only chinese, but also we

Going to some expensive place.

Today I'm going to Baytok, bayok, batok whatever, a big tower with panoramic restaurant. We tried to go two days ago or three, but it was a rainy rainy evening with monster traffic jam, so we went to a korean bbq instead, nice. I've been told the tower is expensive, because we are going for the buffet too, with a circular panoramic view, anyway I want to see that, probably by night, and I ate nothing for the whole day, so beware if you plan to go to the whatever tower this evening, don't come too
