I wouldn't normally cut and paste a story, but this one is special. It is reported on the MSNBC News site, and I put in a link to the video below.

A bond between two burned koalas rescued from Australia's deadliest bushfires has provided some heart-warming relief after days of devastation and the loss of more than 180 lives.
The story of Sam and Bob emerged after volunteer firefighter David Tree used a mobile phone to photograph and fi
Its the 4th of July Grezzzy's Birthday!
VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY GREZZZY
From Greer in Hong Kong
Love You Sweetheart
Happy Happy Birthday to You!
...but how can I give you your birthday present?
(Oh - Happy 4th of July to the Americans too!)
Well it’s been really nice weather here these last couple of days, so I went out to take a few photos. Hope you enjoy them…
This was actually taken near the wet market not far from my office last week. There is a Thai restaurant called Tuk-Tuk Thai just down the street. It’s not bad, and not very expensive, so we go there from time to time for lunch.
This has been the view out of my window for far too long….
Reminds me of the UK…
Finally the sun came out, and made all the diff
It absolutely bucketed down here in Hong Kong on Saturday, and the weather bureau issued a "black cloud" warning...this is apparently an official weather warning level that basically tells employers to notify their staff not to come to work...or at least ours did?so Saturday ended up being a day off...great! The weather actually cleared on Hong Kong side by around 2pm, but by then it was too late to do any meaningful work at the office, so we decided not to bother. On Saturday evening Steve, St
Well it?s been a while since my last journal, so I think it?s high time I made an entry!
Grezzzy and I went to Australia in April for the annual trip to see my mum and my kids and have a bit of a holiday. I am looking forward to having a holiday break with Grezzzy some time when it can be just the two of us, but that will have to be a different time?
We flew into Sydney on a Sunday and went to stay with my brother in his northern suburbs home; on the Monday I collected the kids from the e
So here I sit in the hotel in Hongkers...Grezzzy went back to Bangkok on Sunday night after having a few days of hectic shopping for stuff for her shop. We had a very few days of sanity when I got back from Mumbai on the 26th of March after 6 months to the day being in India...my visa ran out as we lifted off from Mumbai International Airport (it has some unpronounceable name which I cant remember now). After just those few days in Bangkok we headed to Hong Kong for me to start my next project an
The Glasgow Rangers Manager flies to Baghdad to watch a young Iraqi play football, he is suitably impressed and arranges for him to come over to Scotland. Two weeks later the Rangers are 4-0 down to Aberdeen with only 20 minutes left. The Manager gives the young Iraqi striker the nod, and on he goes. The lad is a sensation----scores 5 goals in 20 mins and wins the game for Rangers. The fans are delighted, the players and coaches are delighted, and the media love the new star. When the player c
I hear about TF members who are engaged or with a partner, and wear a ring, and I just wonder what it means to you to have that ring on your finger? The rings I mean specifically are those given by friends (of either sex), maybe just for friendship, or for love (like engagement rings or even wedding rings).I have a ring that Grezzzy bought for me, and I never remove it. I keep it on, and I am aware of it and it has a real meaning, a symbol of who we are to each other.Grezzzy has an engagement rin
I wasn't going to do another journal today, but on reading Cow-ard by farangfarang I was reminded of this story.
Some years ago, when I was working for a TV production company in Brisbane, we were commissioned to make a series of promotional documentaries for the Queensland Department of Education.
These would focus on some of the degree courses on offer. The one I particulary remember was about the veterinary sciences.
I was TD (Technical Director) on the shoot, and we went to a number of sc
I came here nearly five months ago to do a two month job...
I design and build the technical infra-structure and systems for television stations.
Now, when I say it was a two month job, in fact I expected it to be longer, partially because in India everything takes much longer than it should, and partially because I knew that what the client wanted could not be built in that time frame.... and so did the systems integration company I am contracted to for the project.
Well, we are nearing the
Well Dave just submitted a journal about Australia Day so I thought I should also mention that the 26th of January is the Indian National Day too...
Here I am in Delhi, and as I commented in Daves journal, I don't have any decent beer with which to celebrate Australia Day, so I guess later on, my colleague Steve and I will have a drink to celebrate BOTH days - but it will be Kingfisher...
Steve is a Brit, but he lived in Melbourne for 6 years - I can't blame him for that - he was a student so
You are not going to believe this…
I am attending a party by computer!
It’s the New Years Party at our apartment building…Grezzzy took the computer downstairs so I can watch all the fun and be part of it on line live…wow!
Dancing and singing, lots to eat…all a bit virtual, but hey its better than sitting in a hotel room “alone”…heheh!
The maids at the building are dancing and having a great time as I type…Grezzzy is eating her favourite foods…she has made a lot of friends there because I am
Do you find yourself wondering what he or she is doing right now? Wondering what they are eating, how they are feeling? All the things we take for granted when we are together, because that proximity gives us an insight into each others lives in real time, right then and there.Closeness helps to give us confidence in ourselves; confidence to deal with anything at all. It is a confidence that is shaken by being apart.Grezzzy and I had not been separated for more than a couple of days since we firs
Last night I had a very weird dream, not that most dreams are normal in any case, but this one was also odd in the fact that I remember it as well…something I very rarely do.
I was in a bar (no surprise there) in Bangkok somewhere. It was not a girlie bar or anything like that, just a bar in a large club-like place.
I was standing at the bar with a beer and I suddenly realised that one of the girls behind the counter was taking off all her clothes (OK, so this is sounding more like a girlie ba
A Christmas Story
(for people having a bad day)
When four of Santa's elves got sick, the trainee elves did not produce toys as fast as the regular ones, and Santa began to feel the Pre-Christmas pressure.
Then Mrs Claus told Santa her Mother was coming to visit, which stressed Santa even more.
When he went to harness the reindeer, he found that three of them were about to give birth and two others had jumped the fence and were out, Heaven knows where.
Then when he began to load the slei
Sorry Folks,
but based on the detailed information below we've got a problem at Christmas!
Scientific Inquiry into Santa Claus
As a result of an overwhelming lack of requests, and with research help from that renowned scientific journal SPY magazine (January, 1990) - I am pleased to present the annual scientific inquiry into Santa Claus.
1) No known species of reindeer can fly. BUT there are 300,000 species of living organisms yet to be classified, and while most of these are insects and g
Last year, while we were in England, Grezzzy and I went out for a drive one Sunday, near our home in Fleet. Not far down the road we saw a showground with a large gathering of fire engines! We decided to stop and have a look. Keep scrolling down too...there will be a nice surprise at the end... There were lots of trucks of all sizes and a few rather older types.Even hand carts and these small mobile pumps. It's not often that we would think of going to look at fire engines, but it was an interest
Don't squat with your spurs on.
Don't interfere with something that ain't botherin' you none.
Timing has a lot to do with the outcome of a rain dance.
The easiest way to eat crow is while it's still warm. The colder it gets, the harder it is to swaller.
If you find yourself in a hole, the first thing to do is stop diggin'.
If it don't seem like it's worth the effort, it probably ain't.
It don't take a genius to spot a goat in a flock of sheep.

A store that sells new husbands has opened in New York City, where a woman may go to choose a husband. Among the instructions at the entrance is a description of how the store operates:
You may visit this store ONLY ONCE! There are six floors and the value of the products increase as the shopper ascends the flights. The shopper may choose any item from a particular floor, or may choose to go up to the next floor, but you cannot go back down except to exit the building!
So, a woman goes to
When I told my colleagues that I was going to Mumbai for some meetings, they all laughed and said I would hate it...Well here I am, and to be honest, I prefer Mumbai to Delhi. It is no-where near as dusty as the capital. For some reason, even though it is crowded and noisy, and not the cleanest place you've seen...it makes up for it because it has a certain character about it. Maybe it's the colonial coming out in me, or maybe it's just that I feel more relaxed when nearer the sea (that's the Au
Yes, OK this is one of those sloppy entries...but every now and then, why not?
When you love someone, why not tell the world? Why not share your feelings with your friends?
Well, you are our friends, so this is how I feel...
This is to my lovely Fiance...
Darling we have now been engaged for a year and 9 days. Yes it was the 4th of November that we slipped those rings onto each others fingers.
With that simple act, we announced our love, and our intentions, to all - we plan to marry, a
Well here I am, still in Delhi, but now alone.
Yes Grezzzy left on an Air India flight this morning. The original flight was supposed to be at 8.45 am, but after delays and many different stories about the expected time for the flight, she eventually left at 11am.
We had been told to get her to the airport three hours before the flight, so we were there at just after 5.30am, and you can imagine how impressed Grezzzy was about having to wait around for such a long time in such a grotty airport.
