Attended the King's Ball here. My boy Randy was supposed to be one of the MC's bt he got bumped! lol.. so spent the night at the bar. Lots of traditional dancing and activities. Fundraising for a scholarship fund to send some students to study in BKK raised lots of cash. And of course LOTS of great Thai food. All in all.. a good night.

it looks like the US economy is finally getting back on its feet. I work in high tech supply chain and have been out of work for the past 2 years. This week I have had 3 interviews and in addition have had contacts with 2 other companies about positions there! Hopefully this activity will show up in the jobs number tomorrow and we will see a stabilization in the number. The latest global corruption perception index is out.The US fell from 18 to 19. Thailand fell 4 spots to 84. Always interesting to read and discuss. http://www.transparency.org/policy_research/surveys_indices/cpi/2009/cpi_2009_table

I've been doing options trading as my main source of income and am contemplating moving to bkk and doing it from there (gotta love technology)... are there any trader groups in bkk that meet to discuss trading strategies and such?? Thanks all...

The People?s Alliance for Democracy (PAD) on Tuesday accepted the Airports of Thailand (AOT)?s demand to allow incoming flights to use Suvarnabhumi airport after the Constitution Court dissolved the People Power, Chart Thai and Matchimathipataya parties on charges of electoral fraud.
The first incoming flight to the international airport is expected to be within 24 hours.
Not sure if this is the right place to ask this question but I'll give it a shot. As I am contemplating a move to BKK i'm starting to do the due diligence on the mudane things. I'm looking into medical and dental insurance plans. Can anyone advise a place that I might start inquiring (aside from google...lol) about medical and dental insurance plans for foreigners (not even sure if this is a factor ...)
Cheers,
Greg
