Anyone else find it kind of depressing to be back home in farangland? No smiles, almost everyone is so fat, attitude, expensive, still not summer here... Sigh, 9 more months till the next adventure. Any Thai girl want to visit, I'm a good host but no I'm not paying for your flight lol.
Just went for my first trip to Thailand for 3 weeks. I had a good time and didnt get caught by any of these but here are the common scams I saw:
Wat Temples - Temple is closed for . Apparently this is to get you to go some where else. Just ignore them and keep walking till you get to the real entrance.
Dual pricing - Prices posted in Thai are generally due to the Thai national price being different than the farang price. No way around some of this esp at the Wats
Taxi - Not using the mete
Well I made it back to the States last week after 3 weeks in Thailand on my first trip. Exhausted, but had a good time. I need a vacation from my vacation now to recover lol. Earned some nice airline mileage after a whopping 7 flights for a total of 19,000 miles after my 20 hour flight each way! 6000 more and I get a free trip.
Meet some nice TFers, its always good to make knew friends and hear their experiences of living there. I will try and learn more Thai for my next trip since trying

Anyone have any suggestions of where to go in BKK on a Sunday night or a Monday night? I am not sure which clubs are popular on which days. Like a dance club with good hip hop music. Some place busy. Thanks.

Okay I an planning my first trip to Thailand and have figured out these terms: Farang, butterfly, LOS, but one I still dont get what is meant. What is a punter? lol Any other lingo that would be helpful? lol
