Anyone know where to buy the cheapest THAI airline ticket in Thailand? If I go to thaiairways.co.th, I can get a price, but are there any other websites where you can get a better deal? Also, thaiairways doesn't specify 'open return'...?Thanks - Poul PS. I meant thaiairways.co.th of course - now corrected.
With the sad news of today, I once again thought about the idea to place a memory on the profiles who are no longer here, like which were made for Khun_lung, our great man who passed away more than a year ago.One of the reasons to do so is to honour them - another is to avoid other members writing PMs or trying to contact a member who passed away, without knowing about the loss.Is this a good idea? I don't know...Another one we sadly lost was vacanti373 (Randy). There are also others, but I don'

We had some weeks with blazing hot weather in Denmark, then I felt an urge to buy myself a new lens (my name is Poul and I'm a lensaholic ) ...the Sony 70-200mm f2.8 G SSM. It's a legendary Minolta lens, rebadged by Sony. It's....no, this is not about the equipment, it's about pics! So here we go, harbour life (Gilleleje harbour) in Denmark on a beautiful hot summerday (and with my new lens )..That's all for now folks...have a beautiful Sunday!
Here is a mixed bag...not so much story telling, the subjects appeared in front of my camera and I pulled the trigger The thai dance was shot at ISO800 because, as the amateur I am, forgot to adjust it All the others were properly adjusted Have a nice Sunday folks!
Well...due to some less than encouraging comments about the pics from my event, I decided to delete the journal all together...don't wanna harrass anyone if they think their pics look horrible. The pics were taken with my new super-sharp lens + with a flash, so the combination was a first-time experience for me. I may need to redo my workflow regarding this - and I have no time now.
Anyone who think they would want their pics anyway, give me a PM.
...for showing up at my event! So many old + new friends, nice to see ya all! ...didn't get to talk equally much to everyone, but that's how it goes with a crazy crowd like that ...shot MANY pics, also some real winners , but as always, need to process and carefully edit them on my computer before I can post the journal - so you have to wait a week or two, sorry guys! And thanks for behaving well...nearly no scandals
Carl Zeiss 24-70mm. f/2.8

BUT as always, the real test will be made in Thailand. Soon! See ya!
Had a business trip to UK recently - brought my camera with me (of course). Turned out to be a mixed experience, lots of cold wind and rain, and I got sick with a fever :-PAnyway, bored with waiting in the airport, I got a few shots there:I expected to shoot a LOT in London, but as it turned out I got ONE day with nice weather right before the fever hit me, so...not so many pics, not so much energy.Lovely Kensington! If things went as planned, I'd have a load of late-afternoon-with-glowing-light
Not exactly being Mr. Dressman myself, but recent changes in my work requires a new...eh..suit.Now I bought one in Pattaya some years ago, very cheap, but as always, you get what you pay for...quality appeared to be so and so, after some time and a little wear What I believe is that a little extra money spent is worth in the long run...so I'd like to know if some of you have experience with some of the better tailors in BKK. I seem to remember this was brought up a while ago, but can't find the
This goes back to my very young days when I attended a 'youth club' - a place for teenagers to meet, play pool, table tennis, party etc.The members there were a pretty wild bunch. Some died later of drugs abuse, some I would recognize years later, sitting on the street helpless from alcohol or drug abuse, not even recognizing me.One guy, Helge, always was among the most shy members of the club. It struck me again and again how modest he was, a humble soul, never said a bad word about anyone. A

Dinners with friends...a welcome pleasure I expected to have some expert gourmet advice from the ladies, when we decided to go out and have dinner in Pattaya...'Khun Poul, we don't know'... So, we ended at a cozy little swiss restaurent 'Les Petrus' in soi 13/1, after MY recommendation... Food was delicious, and company was excellent

Walked around like a homeless dog last night...didn't see a single TF'er there What a useless place...when noone around to talk to, and sitting in a traffic jam to get there AND to get back from there...bah
Finally, after weeks of un-friendly weather, it calmed down and there was even a glimpse of blue sky. And finally, I suddenly had a few hours time (sorry Nicky, I didn't get to call you) and what else would you use a day like this for than shooting? I jumped in my car, decided to head for the seaside and was lucky enough to find a parking spot (nearly legal), this is in the centre of Copenhagen after all...walking along the sidewalk, I suddenly discovered...the Thai Embassy! The sun was just abou
...if you have a chance, go and see them, they are just UNBELIEVABLE gifted musicians... I just found out (Rob told me), but I already have something else planned that day... ...but, if you go, be sure to WEAR EARPLUGS!
...where I dream myself back to my beloved Thailand...this time the Buddha Hill at Jom Tien. Quite colourful place, think I could go there again and get an entirely different set of shots
Another boring Sunday...why not get ultimately bored and have a look at my pics It's a bit of Buddha shooting, street shooting, this and that...as my late, dear Mom would have said:'It's boring! It looks like...nothing!'
Walking along the beach in Pattaya...look at ppl, see how they CHILL OUT in everyone's own way, young to old...everyone with a laidback attitude (except for the working ppl though ). Chatting and making fun with the kids, the ladies (of course )..Making my way from Pattaya south to north, about one hour of slow walking and shooting, dripping of sweat, having fantasies about a cold drink and some good aircon - Gulliver's save me After cooling down for another hour, watching the many sports cha
Most of my shooting of TFers has been indoor with flash. As the perfectionist I am, I fight with the artificial flash light to get the colours right. Not only the flash itself is the problem - also all kinds of fluorescent lights & weird colours on walls give me problems in the post processing. So why not just make them black & white? It should be noted though:Not every nice colour photo will be interesting in black & white.Black & white pics has nothing to do with reality (I gues
Finally I did the pics from this. However, as we all know, it turned out to be the very last where our most loved friend participated...Mike, we all loved you...I was gonna a post a journal with more or less humerous one-liners with the pics of you all, but I'm just not in the mood. So, many ppl have been asking about the pics, here they are:http://poulsan.smugmug.com/gallery/3147531Also, on that night I forgot my flashgun on the hotel. That means I had to use the built-in flash, which is not ve
Already some time ago...now you have the chance to remember! Excuse the late post...but work has been killing me since getting back...All pics can be seen here: http://poulsan.smugmug.com/gallery/3112831/1This was a bit difficult to shoot! Once we got on the boat, the heat was a nightmare (for me), and it didn't help when we started on the spicy food...moving around was limited because I found myself bumping into waiters all the time...as a result of this, my photographic victims were mostly th
Already some time ago, but if you forgot about it, here is the chance to get your memory refreshed All Pics can be seen from here:http://poulsan.smugmug.com/gallery/3075380/9In my last journal, I tested a new sharpening algorithm, which I afterwards found too harsh...I have now reverted to my old one, and the pics from 'Excuse for Party' will be redone little by little...should anyone want a better (larger) copy, give me a PM with the pic number + your email, and I'll send it to you. Also, if so
