Tomorrow I leave Vancouver and fly back to Portland for a one month extension of my contract. I've always said that if I couldn't live in Thailand, then Vancouver is the place that I'd like to be. Between this, and missing my friends here, I don't want to leave... Here's a few last photos of my time in Vancouver.
Fujico pointed out to me that I haven't posted a photo journal in a long time... I was lucky enough to get 2 weeks off between contracts and am up in Vancouver B.C. right now to spend time with an old friend of mine who had a massive heart attack earlier in the year. It's been very good to spend some time with him and to run around a city that I love very much. Here's some photos from the week that I've spent up here so far, I hope that you enjoy them.
I'm going to be in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) next month and I was wondering if anybody would have suggestions as to people / places / things to do that might not be readily apparent if you've never been there.
I'm especially interested in artists / galleries that are doing their own thing, IE not just grinding out more folk art, alternative music of any form (you never know, there is abstract electronica in Bkk, Noise in Malaysia, and a HUGE Punk scene in Jakarta). Or even out of th
I guess better late than never - here's some of my photos from the Baan Khruu Noi Orphanage event. There's a lot of them but I had a hard time choosing as I took over 7 Gigabytes of photos. I hope that you enjoy :-)
I've been fairly busy trying to find a apartment that's both affordable but nice (harder than one might think!) but have been taking some photos along the way. Here's a few from the last 5 days in Bangkok.
This is the last night of my time in Vancouver B.C., Canada. I've had a great time here and my live performance went very well and I enjoyed all of the other performers that night as well.I've been laying here in bed trying to get to sleep but I'm so excited about flying out to Bangkok tomorrow that sleep just won't come.So I thought I'd post some of the photos that I've taken lately, though the last 2 photos were taken by my friend Dan Kibke as they're of me playing live.
I think the chances of there being T.F. members from Vancouver B.C. who are into experimental music are probably pretty slim. But just in the off chance - I'll be headlining a evening of experimental / ambient / drone music on September 12th at VIVO media arts center, it's at 1965 Main Street.
I write and perform my music under the name of Fibrillation, just so you know which performer I am.
Feel free to come up and say hi, not while I'm on stage of course 555555.
Here's two of the flyers
In 2 weeks I'll be finishing out my current work contract and heading north to Vancouver, British Columbia to play some shows, do some recording, and hang out with my best friend. And after that it's back to Thailand! After working so many 50 -60 hour work weeks I can't wait!
Living in Thailand in 2006 is the experience that really formed my love of photography as I had just bought a Canon Powershot S1 IS before moving there and I found myself continually fascinated and amazed by what I was s
