I was in a relationship with xoxoxoxoxoxo, who I spent over a year with in Bangkok before she told me she had a scholarship to do her Phd. at Auckland University in NZ. I'd been thinking that long distance relationships are hard, avoiding establishing a relationship with anyone else. Communicating with her by email and telephone for over a year, in which she said she loved me and wanted to marry me when she returned to Thailand. I cry for the world racked with pain,
Stripped, raped, mutilated for human gain.
I cry for the earth lying naked and bare,
Wasting away due to lack of our care.
I cry for the waters now looking like crude,
Polluted with toxins by those who think it not rude.
I cry for the oceans and creatures now and once within,
Harvested by those who think extinction, not a sin.
I cry for the trees once tall and commanding,
Felled, cut and burnt by those not understanding.
