TF parties like the 'Old Days'...

Hi guys. I haven't been active for a while, but I really miss the old times. I used to create quite a few events myself, and I am thinking about trying it again. After going to the Big Mango last night with some TFers and seeing only a few people, I wondered what it takes to get people to come back again. The purpose of this blog is to find out how many people would be interested if I set up a Sukhumvit 'Bar Crawl' event where we drink only ONE drink at each bar, and then move on to anoth

What's wrong with me too...?

I was going to post on Neung's (bcool) thread, but I didn't want to hijack it. But yeah, I have the same problem. I feel like I am on the used up shelf sometimes... even though it is partially my own fault because I have turned down opportunities... I am just too fussy about what kind of girl I want now, and I am not into deliberately breaking hearts with one night stands. I just did something here for fun... Women aged between 23 and 28: Results 1 to 30 of 3866... So what is wrong with me..

Khao San Rd (for those who are not tourists who think this is the centre of BKK)

http://www.travelfish.org/map_detail/thailand/bangkok_and_surrounds/bangkok/khao_san_road/9   This is a great map for those who don't go there too often.  I find it distracting trying to find my way around there while wending a path through flakey shirtless wannabe surfies and one-legged dread-locked feminist lesbians... and the hawkers who prey on them. I actually posted it up because I couldn't understand the map on the website for the event tonight.  See you there!

Evony Free Online Game Review

Has anyone else tried out the Evony game online? It is at www.evony.com   I actually found it through an advertisement on ThailandFriends.com.   If you like stategic games such as "Age of Empires", you will love this.  It is totally free to play, but you may purchase items to improve your game. For me, I like it so much it has become addictive.  As a lot of you here know, I have a very demanding job as a foreign administrator in a very large Thai school.  Evony has become my favourite form of re

Failing to respect copyright law.

I notice that some people like to copy and paste text from web pages onto forums and journals with any referencing and then claim credit for it when people respond.  Then when anyone posts the original reference, the entry is deleted by the owner of the journal, which of course you have the right to do. HOWEVER...If you look up the website and you find it has something like... ©2002-2009 Outlook Amusements, Inc. All Rights Reserved ... it is not clever to copy and paste without referencing.  At

Wun Wai Kru - twice this year...!

For the uninformed, Wai Kru Day is a special day in schools in Thailand, and I think it is one of the most touching. I have seen not only Thai, but also foreign teachers overcome by, or trying to overcome emotion. It is the day when teachers are honoured, by a ceremony and flowers from their students. The nicest thing of all was wandering through the Pratom (Primary School) grounds later (feeling like I missed out a bit because I am not a teacher any more) and suddenly being surrounded by my

What is a Farang (½ÃÑè§)?

I just read another journal with a description of a Farang as a 'foreigner'. It is more than that. For anyone interested, the title goes back a long way... I started writing a long explanation, then deleted it when I found Stickman's article and I will simply give the link below: - http://www.stickmanbangkok.com/Reader2006/reader2418.htm However, the following version seems to me to have the most credibility because of the similarity of words in other Asian cultures such as the Khmer. How do I deal with secret admirers???

I know I am a cute little bear that everyone loves, but I am struggling with a personal issue at the moment. I have received a VIRTUAL KISS from an unknown source. Even more than that, I have been added to SOMEONE"S favourites list... It wouldn't be so bad if Christopher would buy me a MEMBERSHIP UPGRADE... but he only buys me a honey now and then. Could be my choice of words... He doesn't know what I really mean and I think he is gay and wants to keep me to himself. They all are you know.

Manliness and its role in Thailand

By: Voranai Vanijaka Published: 17/05/2009 at 12:00 AM Newspaper section: News A man takes responsibility - it's the manly thing to do. He takes responsibility for his work and his family, his word and deed - and when required, his country and people. But what if many of our leaders - our politicians, bureaucrats and those in uniform - shirk on their responsibilities? What if they run and hide? What if when wrongs are done, they act like they haven't done a thing wrong, shrug their shoulde

A lesson in Thai Culture... the Woht - âËÇ´

The Woht (from Roiet, Issan 'Eesaan') Last week I and others had the embarrassing experience of doing a 'Thai Cultural Course' at a nameless Bangkok University, as it is now a requisite for renewing your work permit. To begin, we were presented with a PowerPoint map which clearly showed Koh Chang in South Pattaya and a Thailand that was as wide as it was long (to fit nicely onto the slide...), we made paper dolls and paper planes and played Kindergarten English word games, and we were told that t

Hotel for visiting friend in Nana area

Can anyone advise me about a decent choice at around 1500 baht for a hotel room for a visiting friend around the Sukhumvit Nana area please?  Not too grotty or too loud would be good.

Mikado musical in Bangkok!!

Last night I attended the 'Mikado', a musical by Gilbert and Sullivan - staged by TheatreWorks in Bangkok!! It was really cool and so much fun. It was at the British Club in Silom.  I have many photos, but these will give you an idea.   And three of the Mikado's savage guards patrolling the foyer...

My new pic

I am getting lots of pms from girls (and some men - whose names I shall protect...) wanting to know more of my identity. I know I have an enlarged pic of my body now and I know it excites some. I was also photographed in Chinatown on the Chinese New Year celebrations by one 'Pampinea'. However, although I may be known to some of you , I wish to remain undiscovered as, "once bitten..." Love to all. Yours secretly, Pooh

Twice Shy

The picture on my profile is me.I am lost and forgotten person on a landscape of neglect.  A washed up dreg of society, occasionally floating on the changing tide.  I don't want to be discovered anymore.  It is possible someone even remembers me.  But my identity is erased; my position in the social world is extinguished.  In time, the elements will erase the features that define me and I will be like the other flotsam - nondescript, insignificant pieces of rubbish serving only to litter the oth
