Howdy all, the 18th is my 3rd anniversary on TF, but that is not why I’m making this journal. What I’d like to do is ask you for your help, no I’m not whoring for votes or VKs, although they are always appreciated.
What I am asking for is *indirect* financial support for a charity bike ride that I’ve committed myself to doing here in Thailand. The ride, aka the Tour de Thailand (TDT) www.tourdethailand.com spans a large part of Thailand and goes from Chiang Mai to Phuket, which is over 2,000

Cut to a café. All the customers are Vikings. Mr and Mrs Bun enter - downwards (on wires).
Mr Bun (Eric): Morning.
Waitress (Terry J): Morning.
Mr Bun: What have you got, then?
Waitress: Well there's egg and bacon; egg, sausage and bacon; egg and spam; egg, bacon and spam; egg, bacon, sausage and spam; spam, bacon, sausage and spam; spam, egg, spam, spam, bacon and spam; spam,
Saw this on a T-shirt at the flea market yesterday and it just cracked me up. Also, I was in a great mood 'cause it was an excellent *sunny* day. Anyways here it is:

I'd be interested to see if khun Thai can score better than Farang or not, on the first go around of course, so don't be afraid to reply with you score...
Count the "F's" in the following text:

How many? 3?
Wrong, there are 6 !!--no joke.
Read it again. The reasoning behind it is further down.
The brain cannot process "OF".
Incredible or what ? Go back and look again!!

At a tiny Thai fishing village an American tourist complimented the Thai fisherman on the quality of his fish and asked him how long it took to catch them.
"Not very long," answered the Thai man.
"But then, why didn't you stay out longer and catch more?" asked the American.
The Thai man explained that his small catch was sufficient to meet his needs and those of his family.
The American asked, "But what do you do with the rest of your time?"
"I sleep late, fish a little, play with my chi
Riddle me this:
1. When I go in I might cause pain. I cause you to spit and ask you not to swallow. I can fill your hole. What am I?
2. A finger goes in me. You fiddle with me when you're bored. The best man always has me first. What am I?
3. I'm spread before I'm eaten. Your tongue gets me off. People sometimes like to lick my nuts. What am I?
4. I go in hard. I come out soft. You blow me hard . What am I?

Wow, great news, after living in my place for 9 months now, the building manager told me that the rent was going *down* by 500 bhat a month.
Deflation in BKK rents! Must be too many new apartment buildings going up.
Make sure and bug your landlord, perhaps they'll lower you rent too!
OK, so 8pm at Bourbon Street pub in Washington Square. Take the BTS Skytrain to Phrom Phong station, walk towards soi 22, and enter Washington Square, bear left around the back of the theater and you should find it.
Enjoy beef and chicken Enchalatas, make your own nachos, tacos, burritoes, salad, and fajitas. All you can eat! Hope to see you there.
And afterwards, up to you as they say....
:-)
Howdy all, just wanted to say a short hello from Siem Reap. Spent the 1st of 3 days touring the various temples here more popularly know as Angkor Wat. It may be the low season there in Thailand, but there is still people a plenty here. No problem finding a place to stay though, there is constant construction here too, just like in BKK.
This is my first "real" trip to Cambodia, I don't really count border runs to Poi Pet. I must say that I am very impressed with the Cambodian people in general
OK then, I gotta do a border run to keep my visa in order on 21 May and I wanna go check out Angkor Wat and possibly Penhom Phen. Well, it's always much more pleasant to *not* travel alone, so, anyone want to join me? If so speak up and we'll get the ball rolling reservation wise and etc.
If you've already been there and have some advice, I'd like to hear it as well.
Howdy all, I (finally) got the pics I took at the TF at Koh Sichang event uploaded, here's the link:
http://photobucket.com/albums/v289/tlos4me/TF%20at%20Koh%20Sichang/?start=all
Feel free to copy what you want from there and if you *really* need the full size photos (approx 500 to 600KB) then contact me directly by email and I'll get them over to ya. Happy Songkran! I am soaking wet and freezing from the AC here in the I-net cafe. Cheers!
Oh Yeah, there are *even* some pics of Pooky (Felina)
That's right y'all, approx 168 hours from now, from this very time that I have typed these words, I'll be there in The Land Of Smiles.
So, while I'm there I look forward to anyone who'd like to meet up, hang out, go bowling, see a movie, go clubbin', drink a beer, go camping, hang out on a beach, or whatever.
So, until then, cheers!

My buddy just sent me this link and it's really quite a cool show! Hope that you have the bandwidth to enjoy it all, it runs over 9 minutes but is worth it I think.
I'm not usually known to be the artsy-fartsy type but this kept my attention. Now, if only I could find my Etch-a-Sketch...

Eighty-six, just a number really, same as 56 is. Oh did I mention that they're both equal? One is base 10 and the other is in Hexidecimal, (base 16 for you Hexe, ok?). Why do I dwell on this?
Eighty-six is also the slang for getting ejected from some place, such as a bar or nightclub. Don't really know how it came to be slang, maybe 'cause I've never been 86'ed from a place before. Why am I still ranting about this number?
Well, I just booked a ticket today for a destination, let's call it 'n
Today being Friday and all, I hooked up with one of my friends and we did lunch together. Great thing about it, neither of us had to pay for it. He still works there, and I don't anymore, ever since they sold off the division I worked for and I (had to) help move production back to the USA.
Coming up on 5 years since I started working there, and 2 years since I had to leave. Great company, great bunch of people who work there. This is the place I worked at that opened my eyes to Thailand. Those
Spoon, aka spooning, nestling next to the one you're with as if to replicate their shape.
Fork, aka shaging, horizontal dancing, etc, etc, do I have to paint you a picture? Usually preceeds or comes after spooning.
Knife, used by the your lover if you've been caught spooning or forking with somebody other than them!
Chopsticks, not really considerd silverware, useage unknown, anybody have an idea here?
Upon reading the recent Taxi Mafia journal entry, I recalled an experience that I had there in BKK approximately a year ago. I was trying to catch a taxi near Asoke and Sukumvit to take me out to Rama 9 road kinda near Bang Kapi where I was staying with a friend kinda late one night. Well, I flagged one down and off we went, the meter flag was down and I was kinda explaining in broken Thai and English where I needed to get to. Ya know, leo sai (right), leo kwah (left), (think I got that right...
Well, having spent the last two xmas / new years holidays there in the BKK area, I find myself back here in San Jose for ths one. :-( Been kinda cool and rainy here, not terrible, but not same as Thailand either. Kinda like Chaing Rai weather I'd guess, Thai people would surely like it I think!
Today is also my last work day at my current employer, yeah! Glad to be done with this place! So, I'll be looking for new employment soon, and want to take the time to travel some more. I was looking to
If you could live anywhere in Thailand, where would it be and why?
If your answer is BKK (the greater Bangkok area) could you be more specific as to what part of that vast metropolis you would prefer.
Look forward to your replies from all TF'ers out there, both Farang and native alike.
TIA,
Glen
