Well this journal entry is mostly just a link to my other journal, where I've written something on the topic in the subject line.
But I'd also like to thank some frequent voters of my profile. They seem to come by every day. Sorry I'm not around TF enough to be so kind in response, so I'll thank you here
And in case I don't get to the planned Xmas cards, happy xmas and have a great new year's party to everyone! Greatest of luck to everyone in the new year
Sand and I do a lot of cooking. Because we can get almost all ingredients we need in nearby Chinatown to make real Thai food, we do. Obviously she cooks more of the Thai food than I do! But I help out, and know what things to buy, and I'm not bad cooking farang food.
Anyway, we decided to make somtam the other day. Green papaya is actually pretty inexpensive, and we picked up all the ingredients we need to make different styles: somtam thai, somtam puu, somtam puu mai sai puu , pla ra, gap

BUSH!
Er, sorry, not the joke I meant.
There are a Buddhist monk, a rich capitalist and a Catholic priest aboard the Titanic, and the ship is sinking. They are near the life boats, and each is handed a life jacket. The monk is about to put it on, but then stops and says to the others, "There are many women and children on board who will perish. We should give our life jackets to them."
The capitalist replies, "**** the children!!" and then the priest says, "No, there's no time!"
Inshallah, tomorrow my girlfriend Sand will arrive here in Toronto!
At last!
Out of reach of all you lecherous BKK butterflies
Well, I'm looking forward to being with her again, and this time we'll be together for at least 9 months, long enough to, er... never mind. She's doing a design-related technical diploma at a very cool college here. The school facilities are quite amazing, I took a tour earlier in the year. This will suit the things she enjoys doing much more than a dry Master's i
Well, today was to be a big day. I was supposed to meet two TFers, Rich (raw) who lives here in Toronto, and sister Jane (the world-famous atomicflower).
n'Jane was passing through Toronto airport, flying from BFT-LHR-YYZ-TLC hehe. That's Belfast-London Heathrow-Toronto-back to her TLC!
I arranged to pick up Rich at his place and we'd drive together to the airport. He lives about 15 minutes drive from my place downtown, under "normal" circumstances.
But there are no normal traffic circumst
Hey, one year ago today I joined TF. Sand told me about it, that it had just come online a day or so beforehand.
According to the old TF I'm the 15th member to join who still has a profile. Members who came before me and are still active at least sometimes are Admin and his gf of course, n'Puii (Buffology, who joined a few hours before me), and maybe Joy and XplicitImage. Some who came before me disappeared from TF, like Sand, and others deleted their profiles to come back under another name
I have 6 invitations to use Gmail to give out.
If you don't know what it is, it's Google's new free mail service. But right now you can join by invitation only. You get 1000mb storage space, plus easy searching and automatic organization of messages by topic and sender.
If you want to learn more, read here.
The good thing about signing up now is that Gmail is still very new, so you have a better chance of getting a cool address like [email protected] instead of [email protected]. There
Sand has made me into her secretary. Sometimes I give her wakeup calls (from the other side of the world!), sometimes I remind her to do things, and often I take care of her mail on face-pic, sometimes on hotmail. (Hey, I get a great salary: 3 baht per month, plus benefits. ) Actually the face-pic mail has given me a new insight into all the crap guys send to girls on these services. See for example this blog entry.
So I was the first one to come across the following job offer from j***_ul
N'Jane and I both agree... we date younger because we are vampires!!
We suck their youthful energy out and into our own bodies, letting ourselves stay young, stop aging, live forever!
WAAAAAAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAAHAA
Well, I needed a topic for today because I don't want my other entry for today to show up in the recent entries list. (Don't bother, it's boring.)
n'Jane told me to talk about rubbers. OK I thought, sure.
She was going to the superstore earlier and asked if I wanted anything. So naturally I asked for a package of 12 condoms, unlubricated, ribbed.
Then she asked me what ribbed was. Hmm. I tested for more basic knowledge.
After I had decided that n'Jane knew about the birds and the bees (
As I said in my profile's About Me section, HTML no longer works there, so I moved that section into this journal entry.
I have a great little boy named Holm, Old English for "sea"... have close family living in BKK (near Emporium! ) ... and BKK is also where wonderful Sandee, my ·ÕèÃÑ¡, is I'm studying/working in Toronto ... travel a lot... have a talent for chopping wood, it's very relaxing!
Holm's full name is Holm Yþan Quetico MacDonald Gill. Now that's a mouthful, but his name has
Sand and I were chatting today, and one topic led to another....
After cleaning up the mess we got on to the topic of what makes a perv.
Sand's initial definition had to do with guys playing with themselves while looking at porn. (Well, she was kidding.) I told her that pretty much every guy does that at some point of his life! Teenage boys are particularly noted for this activity. So many TFers clicked on 'one year or more' in the poll about the longest you've gone as an adult without sex
Hi Nong Nut! Was this basically what you were trying to do?
I used this HTML tag to insert the photo above:
<img src="http://pics.thailandfriends.com/picmanager/albums2/ta/tammy_kawaii/412071fcdfb73_tammy_kawaii.original.jpg">
I got the URL by opening this pic from your album, then right-clicking and selecting Properties. The full URL of the pic was given there.
But for example, this pic
lives in my Geocities webspace, and I used the HTML tag

Well, so many people are posting songs with such serious lyrics about love. Instead of writing journals. Then again, maybe posting a song with lyrics about love is a lot better than posting something weird about stuffed bears.
Anyway, here's my contribution to the love song journals.

I have found... Gloomy Bear.
Gloomy Bear is so............. pink, so cute...
so light, so happy...........
Gloomy Bear is the question and the answer. From Gloomy Bear all light shines into my mind... I am free from my slavery to false gods and false ideas. Gloomy Bear transcends time and space. Gloomy Bear sometimes has claws.
Gloomy Bear is so freakish...................
so alien, so.....................
Godlike
A photograph of the Nagasaki explosion
Today is the 59th anniversary of the atomic bombing of Nagasaki, and 3 days ago, of Hiroshima. Now, the 60th anniversary will no doubt be more of a blast (sick pun intended) but I don't want to wait that long.
I'm not going to comment on whether or not the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were necessary or unnecessary, ultimately good or bad. But whatever the politics, some 150,000 people were killed in the blast and within a couple of weeks afterward
... and go to bed! n'Jane made me promise to go to bed now (it's 6:30am here), and in return, she promised to keep Slurms from falling in love with me. I didn't know that was a risk, but she knows him better than I do....
Hey thanks for the testimonial by the way! Better late than never, eh?
I've seen Pygmalion but to be honest I forgot what it was about LOL - a quick web search reminded me of it - of course, the story of Prof. Henry Higgins and Eliza Doolittle which I remember better by the song 'The Rain in Spain' from the musical version. It's funny but Shaw's plays all blend in to one for me. We have a Shaw Festival at a city nearby Toronto every year so I've seen several, but I honestly can't tell them a
2nd attempt after being kicked off TF :@
Well I'm back in steamy Toronto tonight after thundershowers which kept my plane in the air circling for an hour and flooded part of the 401. A really nasty cold got into full swing on my last day in BKK, July 6. Maybe it's SARS. I blame the constant switching between heat and frigid air conditioning. I guess I managed to infect several people in BKK and on the planes home. I was feeling so toxic on the night of the 6th that I just wanted to lie sti
Hey, how about a TF lunch at Mon Jit Gai Yaang, a good, basic, Isaan food place on Soi Ekkamai, between Ekkamai 18 and 20. Meet at 1pm at the restaurant.
If you're coming by BTS, get off at BTS Ekkamai, and catch any transport up the soi to Ekkamai 18. I even think that the free BTS bus goes up there, but don't kill me if I'm wrong.
Afterwards we can go to Banrai Cafe at the corner of Soi Ekkamai and Sukhumwit... for those who want to skip lunch, 3pm-ish is probably a safe bet, or just call to
I've been in LOS since May 27, partying so hard I can't even remember what I've done.
LOL, nah.
I've been here visiting my gf Sand and my dad who lives here, and is the main reason I've come to Thailand so often for the last 19 years. Actually Sand is the main reason now, but since my dad's health isn't very good I figured I'd better get a few visits in now while I could... never know what's just around the corner.
I brought along Ling Noi for the first two weeks, as my friends here call him
Today is Norwegian Independence Day. Let's all give a cheer to Norway, which is a beautiful, sparsely populated country, and happens to have some very beautiful women also. (Hi Marianne, hi Lollo! Sorry I decided to take a different route, once upon a time.)
I just finished eating half a seedless watermelon. Not bad, but will improve as the summer goes on. The seeded ones actually have a better flavour I think.
But, my point. Today is the birthday of the spiritual father of the Iranian R
