Three engineering students were gathered together discussing the possible designers of the human body. One said, "It was a mechanical engineer. Just look at all the joints."
Another said, "No, it had to have been an electrical engineer. The nervous system has many thousands of electrical connections."
The last one said, "Actually it was a civil engineer. Who else would run sewage waste pipelines through a recreational area?"
So on Loi Krathong Day some of us TF'ers went to Imperial World Samrong at Bang Na for an afternoon of ice skating! Well, I didn't skate but I was the best cheerleader and photographer! And damn, it was cold in that place! For those who were moving it was okay but for the cheerleader it got very chilly! Thankfully Ralf worked up a bit of a sweat and loaned me his sweater, but even then I froze! Needless to say, it was a fun afternoon with old TF friends and a couple of new ones!

So the 3rd annual Anniverscary Party has come and gone! Nearly 200 people had signed up and it was impossible to count noses but I'd say more than that actually came! And I tried my best to get a photo of everyone but that too proved impossible so all I can do is share the pics that I did come home with.
Kudos to St. Jay 2unique for organizing the event and making it a huge success, undoubtedly the largest TF gathering ever!

Many of you know from my journal last Sunday that I came down with the flu and was very miserable for several days. I had gone to the doctor on Saturday and said, "Please, give me some strong medicine because I'm going to Koh Samed on Friday."
My recovery has been painfully slow. It was only on Wednesday that I began to feel human again. But I thought I'll be okay.

I've got the flu, and it seems to be trying very hard to kill me! Fever, headache, runny nose, watery eyes, sore throat, terrible cough, shallow breathing, muscles aching all over my body, vomiting and diarrhea too. I saw the doc yesterday and got medicine but it hasn't done anything to help. In fact the antibiotic is causing severe diarrhea and think I'll have to change it. And I slept very poorly last night. A couple of years ago there was a class reunion at my old university and all of my former roommates got together for it, except for me as I was here in Thailand. Well, I just want to say that vote whoring works. You get testimonials or private messages that say "Vote number XXX for you, have a good day!", and you vote them back. This is vote whoring! And as TF is now, it works. The vote whores get votes.
In my opinion, votes should be given to those who contribute to the TF community. TF is, after all, a community of people who relate to each other and enjoy mutual friendship. So why would you give a vote to someone who contributes nothing?

For the past few days I've been mulling over what to do about a costume for the upcoming TF megaparty, and finally an idea hit me! So where could I find such a thing I wondered, and of course the answer was found at ebay.com! So I found what I wanted, bid on it, and got it and the seller will even ship to me here in Bangkok (from the USA)!

While Friday night's party was to commemorate Stu_thailand's two year anniversary in Thailand, today is also MY SECOND ANNIVERSARY ON TF and what better way to to celebrate! Wooooo hooooo!

Well, it was another wild Monday night party with around 20 TF'ers wandering in and out. We started with grub and suds at Bully's Pub and instead of going to the Coliseum, Stu's fingers got itchy so we went to Absolute 7 again where Stu can jam with the band!

Well, I'm just trying to promote Jan's (deebubble_girl) and Bee's (somebody) upcoming party! We have a good group signed up already but the more the merrier!
This event happens on the weekend of October 21st and accommodations are going to become scarce so book early! The event will be held at Vong Deuan Beach again and there are several places with bungalows available. Mr. Google will guide you to quite a few web sites for booking.

So it was another Monday night of alcohol and debauchery starting off at The Dubliner Pub for food and drinks, then moving on to Absolute 7 Bar for more drinks and Stu jammed with the band for a few songs (see video below). Last night was the Mozart concert sponsored by Cream (justmyself). Kungnoi, me, and a few other TF'ers were there to enjoy the works of Mozart on the occasion of his 250th birthday anniversary.
Well, it was a splendid concert and I must say that the Mahidol University choir is first class and very polished! And any person who thinks that Asian voices can't reproduce the sound of European music is sadly mistaken! I've included about a 30 second video clip from the concert above.

Occasionally I like to pay tribute to the people of Thailand who make a difference, but almost never get any credit. Today, through my journal, they do.

It was a long weekend of partying once again! It started on Sunday at the Emporium food court, then moved on to RostyV's apartment, then Gullilvers on Soi 5, then O'Brien's near Soi 5 for b_Cool's birthday party, then finally at Absolute 7 Bar. On Monday the gathering was at Brown Sugar Pub for a bit of food, drinks, and jazz amongst good friends, some new, some old.
