I thought that I had seen everything playing football. But obviously I haven't. Yesterday afternoon, my team Sunbelt United played the Winking Frog, from Sukhumvit soi 7 in a friendly match. The match was played in good spirits between both teams. With about 5 minutes left and us trailing 0-1, all of a sudden the game turned ugly. I know it is Mother's Day today and that most people have a day off work today, but the important question is "Are the bars selling alcohol today?"
Will I be able to go to The Robin Hood and drink a gallon(8 pints) of Kilkenny, or is it going to be another alcohol free holiday?
I know there are a few English teachers on TF, but don?t you ever think you are on the road to nowhere.
The combination of people in authority changing their minds every 5 minutes and having to teach to unmotivated students who have been forced to learn by parents/employers, has made me lose all enthusiasm to teach English.
If I continue to teach English for the next 5 years, will my career have progressed. Probably not.

I will be leaving the City of Angels tomorrow to go back home to Scotland for a month holiday. I haven't been home for 2 and half years. There are some things I am looking forward to and some things I am not. The things I am looking forward to are:

As I was passing by Tops supermarket this afternoon, I decided to go inside and buy some beers for tonight.
When I got to the check-out they told me that there is a ban on selling alcohol during the afternoon.

After reading appeals for blood donors on TF and the Bangkok Post, I decided to go to the Thai Red Cross this evening to donate blood.
On arrival at the hospital at 6.30pm, I was informed that the hospital had enough blood and didn't need any more donors until after New Year.
I found this surprising and asked if I could donate blood now,as due to work commitments it would be difficult for me to find time after New Year.

About 3 weeks ago my friend entered me for the Bangkok 10k run. I really didn't want to do it but if I didn't do it I would never hear the end of it.
I am not a keen runner but I new some training was needed as I wasn't sure I could do it.. I decided to do some training in Jatujak park and eat healthily for a couple of weeks.
It paid off. The run started at 6am this morning, which meant waking up at 4.15am which wasn't easy. It was on at the same time as the marathon and its amazing the ages
