I have a question to bother those with Thai labor law knowledge or experience in similar situation. Here is a hypothetical situation (not mine):
A person signed an offer letter to start employment with one firm. However, while waiting to start the job, a much more intersting opportunity comes along and that person wants to diss the first job for the second one.
The offer letter doesn't specify anything related to penalty of not starting the employment, only probation period of 3 months and
Have you ever seen a bank advertisment featuring identity theft protection and just thought to yourself it's probably one in a million chance that this could happen to you? Well, I turned out to be that one in a million today. Got a surprise phonecall from Citibank about unauthorized debit card transactions while enjoying my lunch on Sunday. The transactions include: $500-something purchase at Toy R' US, $125 at some food market and a couple of trips to McDonald (probably craving for chicken
My favorite talkshow host with my favorite President. I've been a big fan of Conan since I was in college; I've always got good laugh from his show. The clip is his interview with Barack Obama when he was doing Chicago tour. I think it's brilliant.
I'm not sure if you can view content from nbc.com

Thais Lead Drive to Natural-Gas Cars
Subsidies, Volatility of Oil Prices Spur Move Even as a Campaign Starts in U.S. to Get Americans to Switch
By PATRICK BARTA
Bangkok
An unusual alliance of energy tycoons and environmentalists is trying -- with limited success -- to persuade skeptical Americans to start running their cars on natural gas instead of gasoline.
But in many developing countries, the switch is already on, driven by the volatile price of gasoline, the accessi
For Stocks, Worst Single-Day Drop in Two Decades
By MICHAEL M. GRYNBAUM
Published: September 29, 2008
It was the Black Monday of 2008.
Stocks fell by nearly 9 percent on Monday ? the worst single-day drop in two decades ? after the government?s bailout plan, touted by its supporters as a balm for the current market stress, failed to pass the House of Representatives, setting off a fresh wave of anxious selling.
In yet another day that has shaken the embattled canyons of Wall Street, the Do
I was wrong about her not going to give an interview to the press. She obviously can talk, but without real depth of knowledge in the issues, her answers become just bunch of words that just sound good to uninformed voters.
It sucks as expected. After 3 wonderful weeks of vacaton in Thailand, now I'm sitting in my office dreaming / planning when I can just move there for good. The moment the plane touched the ground of JFK airport, I couldn't help but said "f**k". I knew I was gonna be in a hell hole for the next 3 months with the new project.
Bangkok.. such a great place. Things just work out for ordinary people like me. Having lived away from BKK for a decade, I think I get to learn the city as a tourist
Anyone playing GTA 4 multiplayer online? I just started going online this week, and it's extremely fun. It's so beautiful sniping someone from far distance and they just die not knowing what hit them... LOL The game is a must-own for PS3 and Xbox 360 players. The details of New York City (and New Jersey) in the game are just amazing. Truly awesome..
Came across this in economist.com... in case anybody gives a crap. I'm not sure which goods & services are included in the basket to compute these indices, but there's no way New York is ranked #39 if rent is included in the basket. Rents in NYC should be comparable to those in Paris and London. It's possible that these are calculated in nominal U.S. Dollar term. Dollar has fallen a lot.. making cost of living in other cities more expensive when converted to USD. --------------------------
I just found this British show called "Ball of Steel" on youtube and been watching their clips. I think it's brilliant. This is one hilarious clip about some strange girl coming on to a guy in front of his girlfriend. The gf is damn scary lol
I'm actually watching Emmys on TV right now. They previously performed "Let It Be" in kind of urban gospel style (You have to forgive me as I'm not an expert in music). Anyhow, it just reminds me how beautiful the song is. So, I did the search on youtube for the original version by The Beatles. Here you go:

Just bought a PS3 and Assassin's Creed yesterday. Been playing for over 12 hours now. I think the gameplay is great, but it can get repetitive at times. I like how people and soldiers (A.I.) react to differemt situations in the game. You have to make your way through people in streets of ancient cities like Jerusalem during your assassination or escape. The sword fight is pretty impressive, but it seems like all I have to do is to wait for the chance for counter-attack to kill someone with
I guess I'm just not in trend. By the way, well done, Thailand.

Addicted
Sep 24th 2007
From Economist.comAROUND 700m Asians, mostly men, cannot get through the day without puffing on a cigarette. The habit is thought to kill around 2.3m Asians every year, almost half of the global victims of smoking. Cigarette consumption in China soared between 1970 and 1990 but has fallen slightly since. No, it's actually a survey of sexual behavior amoung countries. Looks like Thailand is pretty much the same as the U.S. (10.5 partners with 50% unprotected rate??), except that average Americans have their first time 2 years earlier than Thais do. Interesting...
