Hi Everyone I just returned from Phuket I have been there quite a few times now, and it seems to be getting more expensive each time I visit, with the Global Financial Crisis (GFD) and now problems with the airport closure, the tourist industry will be affected.Since tourism accounts for 5 to 6% of GDP in Thailand (or thereabouts) I do worry about what affect it will have on the local people!! In Patong behind Jungceylon there is alot of building (hotels) going on I wonder if they will have the tourists to fill them in the coming yearsI also find it strange how prices in Phuket are more expensive than other parts of Thailand, but on the other hand more hotels means more competiton and cheaper prices in theory!!!(I could be wrong)I do not smoke ciggies, just about every resturant I ate in there was a person smoking, no matter where I sat the smoke followed me, and I noticed the vast majority of these people to be European, (I could hear them talking  in a European Language) I gather the Quit Smoking Office in Europe is very tiny!!   Not to mention the least used telephone Helpline!!At least the beer tasted nice!!!!
