petertje72 0 Posted February 12, 2007 Report Share As described in the video is that Saint Martin airport, Island of the Netherlands Antilles.. This small island in the Caribbean have a dutch (Sint Maarten) and french part (Guadeloupe). Perfect place to spot airplanes ;-) Dangerous, but there is a warning sign at the beach: "Warning, low flying and departing aircraft blast can cause physical injury" :-) Quote Link to comment
Down2Earth 3 Posted February 12, 2007 Report Share I liked to go sit at the park near an airport in WDC. Not as dangerous compare to these ones but still got to see the plane tummy up close lol Quote Link to comment

khun_lung 2 Posted February 12, 2007 Report Share Nothing beats the steep left turn when landing at the old Hong Kong airport! I did it many times! Quote Link to comment
changNoi_99 0 Posted February 12, 2007 Report Share Khun_lung Yes the old Kai Tak....Little bit of history now My farther was captured by the Japanese army dec 1941 Hong Kong all the brotish forces where used as slave labour to build the original Run way My farther was a royal engineer at the time and worked on it a lot. He told me the Japanese enguneer in charge of the project was lazy and prefered to drink saki and leave all the work to the prisoners. The mix fore the runway was sabataged and the first corgo plain to land on it sunk into the runway. The Japanese officer was req to comite suicide Quote Link to comment
thejudgegiles 0 Posted February 13, 2007 Report Share CN99.. great story. I like to watch planes land .. dunno why. It's a man thing I think, big high powered machines. There is a nice outdoory restaurant that I used to visit in the past up near Don Muang.. you could get nearly as close as some of those shot.. the planes were maybe at 500 feet. It was always busy, I think most of the patrons were 50/50 there for the food/planes. Quote Link to comment
