I used to thing CM was the cats meow until I really spent more then a few months in Bangkok.I havnt been to CM in a few years but now that I can compare the two, I do think its much easier to meet someone in BKK.

That being said, I think you can spend more quality time when you meet someone in Chiang Mai.Setting up meeting points in BKK, getting in and out of traffic, the heat, can wear you out in the big city.I remember how nice it was to find some place peacful in CM, just 20 min and your up in the mountains...nice.
