I hope you're all having a good Christmas/New Year's season. Don't worry, Christ need not be involved, and probably isn't involved for most of you. Much more likely, plenty of alcohol is involved. It is actually possible to have a good Christmas/New Year's without it. Hahaha, said as I sit here drinking some Guyanese rum.If today we decide to co-opt the Christmas tree and even the name Christmas for festivities that totally ignore Christ, tough luck I say to those that complain. ÊùéÓ˹éÒ. Early Christians co-opted Roman festivals around Dec. 25 for their own uses, and other pagan festivals for other Christian dates. A Christmas festival is evolving that is non-denominational, which all but the most heavily religious can feel comfortable celebrating. Christmas has a life of its own now. Sorry Jesus, you're no longer required. Even atheists can happily celebrate Christmas. And to further celebrate the Christmas season, here's a wonderful adaptation of the Christmas carol Silent Night. Sing along if you know the tune.Meanwhile, my two pervert cats are hanging around begging for some fish. One is up with his paws on the table, and the other is busy licking the first cat's a**hole. I can't stop laughing, but Sand thinks it's gross. Especially since the cat doing the a**hole licking is her "baby," Naga. I guess she's just seen a new side of Naga's personality.Hey, anyone ever been propositioned by State Bank of India? Apparently they think I'm South Asian. This is real, not some Nigerian-type scam. I guess it's because my family name is Gill.Take care all, have a Happy New Year, 2550!!Oh yeah, and Sand got PR in Canada (permanent residence) about a month ago, so she's offficially an immigrant here and can work legally, and we're engaged now, as of Christmas Day. Smile
