As many of you know, I am like a fairy, chicken, scar-de-cat and even a girly-man when it comes to spicy foodTongue outThe time has come, yes, you hear correctly when I say, I want to eat spicy food! Oh sure, I know that I will weep like a small school child. My mouth will burn like a raging fire. I will probably end up in the corner of a restaurant in the fetal position. But, so many of my friends enjoy this burning of their mouths that I have become jealous, envious and dare I say angry at them for enjoying this food that morphs me into a small mass of silly puddy.So my fellow TFers, what can you recommend as a starting point? Maybe just a small amount of hot sauce on my food? Maybe a small dish of a mild yet spicy rice? Or should I just step up to the plate and blast my tongue with lighter fluid and set it ablaze?Come on, Bobbyboy needs some assistance....

boobygirl, woops, sorry, i meant bobbyboy, i think you should jump straight to eating whole chillies. start with maybe 6 of the really small green ones. they're not very hot :)

then you'll be ready to start eating some mildly spicy food

What's the point? Your Scandanavian genes are not constructed to digest chili- and spice-laced Southeast Asian food. It's not gonna make you more of a goomba to burn a whole in your intestines. And you're not gonna enjoy your next visit here if you're spending 80% of it on the john or buying Immodium.

You're a salty dog, but you need a bland diet. Deal with it.

Try "Geang Phed" or then just put a prik-khee-nuu in your mouth. Sounds good eh khun papa? ;-)
