K visa scam

Once in awhile I will look at the advertisements on this site and click on the link to see if they are good deals or not.  One of the advertisements that was listed was a guarantee K visa and an agency that would do all the paperwork for you.  After seeing how much they wanted to charge for this service I had to laugh! It was some where in the nature of $1500 US dollars.  That is ridiculous and I can't believe people even have the balls to charge that much for a visa that only costs $170.00 dollars in the USA to file.  Also the website guaranteed that you would receive your visa.  This is also false because there is no guarantee that you will get the visa.  It has to be approved in the USA and there is no agency that has power over this. Years ago I was in Thailand and I met a lady that I wanted to bring into the USA.  We went down to the US immigration office in Thailand and went through the process of getting married in Thailand. While we were down there a lady started talking to my girlfriend at the time about an agency that takes care of all visas for men trying to get their women into the USA.  Before I knew it we were in this guys office and he was telling us for $2000 dollars that he could get her in the USA guaranteed! He was talking to her in Thai so I was not able to understand all of the conversation.  However after hearing this I told her that there was no way in hell that I was going to pay $2000 dollars for a fiance visa for her. I also asked the man if he took credit cards for payment, he replied that cash was the only acceptable payment. Once I heard this I knew it was another scam taking advantage of men that wanted to bring their women into the US. So to all the men out there that want to get their thai women into the USA, make sure you don't fall for this scam.  To be honest I can't believe this website even lets people like that advertise on here.  But I know the site has to make its money from advertising.  However if the site had any integrity it would not have advertisements that take advantage of people in this nature. I just wanted to give a lot of men the heads up before they are taken advantage of.  It is very simple to file the paper work for the fiance visa and it only cost $170.00 US dollars to file the visa. Here is the link and you can even print out the application online.http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis

Thats the ad that I am talking about, I guess you didn't read that much of what I wrote. Any how I am not sure what your comment means at all? " I doubt it" - what is this referring to? Trust me I have had first hand experience with this and what I am saying is the truth!

It doesn't take that much to get a fiance visa. I'm not sure why anyone would pay someone else to file the papers for them. Like the first guy said maybe it was guaranteed visa or money back. But really how often do people get denied fiance visas?? Just wondering but I would think it would not be very often. Although its tourist visas that seem to be denied all the time.

There is no such thing as a guaranteed visa. So why pay hundreds of extra dollars for something that only cost $170.00. No agency can guarantee you anything. If they claim they can then they are lying regardless if it is easy to get the visa or not!

Yeah, the visa is not that hard to do. In fact, it seems that it is the preferred (or more successful) route for the US. Last year a buddy of mine was going back and was trying to get a tourist visa for his girlfriend. Eventhough they went in well prepared she got denied, and they said that they should have applied for a fiancee visa (though they had no plans or ideas about getting married - she was just going for a visit).

As far as the fees go, that sounds like pretty standard legal billing. Not out of line for what you'd pay someone in the U.S. to do it. Anytime you hire someone to do something for you, you're going to pay 5 to 10 times what it would cost you to do it yourself. Time = money.

YEs I totally understand that if you have someone do something for you that you are going to pay extra for that. However there is also a price that is way over board for doing business. The correct business term I think is called Price Gauging. I think a lot of people are missing the point of what I posted. The fact is that no one can guarantee you a visa. If they say they can then they are lying to you! The only person that can make that decision is the US goverment and even they will not tell you that you will automatically get it just because you paid a certain price. Also any company that does not accept credit card payments is not a legitimate business. Any reputable business will accept a credit card as a payment. The reason that some company's won't is because you can call your credit card and dispute the charge is services are not performed . I know that there are a lot of guys out there - (myself included) that have one time wanted to bring a thai woman into the states. I am just trying to help anyone that is thinking about using a service instead of paying the low fee of $170.00.

Gauging is standard practice for lawyers. Most of the time you pay them a few hundred bucks while their secretary spends 5 minutes filling out a template or a couple of forms.

But this agency probably is just some expat putting up a sign on the door (or the web) trying to lure in the suckers or the guys outside of Thailand who are trying to arrange visas for their ladies.
