At the beginning of February I met a very nice lady from Udon and she invited me to visit her village. Her village is about 20km outside of Udon on the road to Loei, basically in the middle of nowhere. I was the only farang in the village and every step i took was watched by many eyes.Going from Patong to this village was from one extreme to the other and a great way to relax. The time there consisted of having a big meal with friends and family, before which i had 19 pieces of thread tied around my wrist for good luck. Visited the temple very early in the morning to have breakfast with the monks. I actually spent time working in the rice fields until i was told there were snakes.  Most of the time was just relaxing in the fields and reading.Anyway some pics to shareJing and PipeDSC00397.jpgDSC00398.jpgDSC00407.jpgDSC00432.jpgDSC00414.jpgI hoped to get a pic of the family buffalo but apparently it was a bit sick.

A Fantastic Experience for you. I hope to do that Myself.

I think it is a great way to go.

Certainly beats the Hum Drum of Bangkok & all Cities in General, not only Thailand.

It's the only way to learn to understand & experience a Culture & It's Peoples, no matter what Country you visit.

Definitely, down to Earth.
