Had dinner with a long lost uni friend last nite. It was a pleasant surprise! I think the last that we met was like many years ago...when we're all just starting out..bright-eyed..brave...full of hope...ambition...drive (et. al)..with that piece of paper..We're Invincible (or so we thought!)...Now ...we're caught in the NET..in the WWW...Wicked World of Work!..

Anyway, got horrific news that the university (btw this is a uni in Australia..why am i saying this? coz i won't be surprised if it happened in Singapore..as simple as that! )is goin to remove (as in permanently) the TAVERN to make way for a new wing of the library!! THE TAVERN aka the uni. pub and most importantly the center of my universe at that time!!!! Wat will happen to the students then?!...dun they spare a thought for the future generation...wat will the undergrads become?....soul-less!!...god have mercy on their souls...

Ahh we all have fond memories of the TAVERN..an Institution of Inebriated Wisdom..the temple of Sanity..that place is where people of different creed, culture and colours blend into one big family...Countless number of hours spent there..from punishing group assignments to kick ass parties or hatching a perfect plan to take over the world (haha it can get to that stage thanks to the cheap booze flowin)...a whole kaleidoscope of emotions felt...Love, Luck, Lust etc...AHHH the TAVERN!...one big "Life 'r' Us!"

Oh well...they can take it away physically..BUT NEVER! from my heart and head...ahh the TAVERN!...O' cursed Impermanence!

i understand, the same thing happened at my university. i went back to visit and everything had changed. my favorite bar had become a dry cleaners. do we miss the pub or our youth that has gone with it?
