Tony Blair annonced that he will step down from Britain's Prime misnister this evening.

I don't have much information enough to give opinion about this.

(which of course I will do research about it)But I'd like to know you guys opinion about this.

What do you think about this? How it will effect us or direction of the world?Or it wouldn't change anything because he will be replace with someone from the same party which actually means they will continue with tha same policy. I'd like to hear as much opinion as possible. Thanks in advance.

Blair will unfortunately be remembered for his part in the Iraq war, which is unfortunate because he is a talented and charismatic politician that has done a lot of other good things. There is a good article in last week's Time magazine about him. I will be sorry to see him go.

Don't expect too much change in the world though.....

Well good news.... Now we only have to wait for Bush to leave too and the world might (just might) be a better place....

That said, we should be worried about "hawkish" Sarkozy in neighboring France.....

Resignation: Flies change **** remains. Thats the code in politics.... Dont expect too many changes other than the names Sinderella

I agree with Achilles.

They say "a change is as good as a rest" & I do think Blair has gone stale.

At least Bush can't get elected again.

We can only hope for the world to be come a better place with the people we put in power.

Come back Bill Clinton. Was the world a nicer place when he was in power?

Blair even seemed better back then.

I hate Finance people. I just hope Brown won't put more trade barriers or take advantage of other countries in term of economy. His focus will be more into poverty in his country not ours for sure.

No time to 'take advantage' of other economies .Gord's(no,not God-despite rumours to the contrary) too busy f*cking up the one at home. Not for much longer though. The baton soon will be passed onto another hopeless Labour MP to continue this legacy of raising tax, screwing pensioners and wasting these ill gotten taxes on bets down the bookies and wee drams of Johnnie Walkers.I heard he put 1 billion on the Chelsea/ Liverpool match. What a waste....should have put it on the the West Ham/Bolton game.Scots eh!

Blair is better than what's going to replace him, as we are about to discover. Whether you believe him or not,he was sincere. Like Lenin and so many other politicians, he was overtaken by events. Now I hope he gets a job that lets him do some good. Like helping Africa. In general I think he was pretty good for the country at a time when the opposition were not fit to govern. We could have done a lot worse.

sadly to say bush wont step down until he is replaced. Given I thought the whole Iraq thing was handled wrong we went in for the wrong reasons, but if it was not Bush and Blair it would have been someone else. That part was unavoidable. Now we have to fix the wrongs and put the country back on its feet.

Iraq, Iraq, Iraq. If that's all People can think of, it's a bloody bad job. What about the last 10 years of Labour Government taking away the identity of Britain? I read in yesterday's Daily Mail, the UK now has 50,000 immigrants a MONTH, entering the country from Bulgaria and Romania ALONE, all of course, working for minimum wage. (Or less if they don't get a work permit). It's gone too far now. It cannot be turned back. This is one thing i do NOT miss about being in the UK. If I openly speak as I have here, I will be arrested for RACISM. I hope the next leader will take a leaf out of John Howard's book. Recently, he said, "No, i do NOT want to see immigrants who are HIV positive comking to settle in Australia" - good on him. He is a Prime Minister who has the interestes of his country at heart.

OK

i have sat here 10 minutes thinking what to write.

there is to much to say

Tony blair has ruined this country

He has given most of our power to an un elected body in europe

there are so many new taxes it feels like your work all day just to pay all the taxes even going on holiday is taxed

anyone from from europe can come here to work and our wages are higher so they come in 100,000s

also there are so many illegal immigrants here from all over the world last year they allowed 500,000 to live here legaly now they want to do the same again

children are leaving school not able to read or write english

if you go to hospital for something not to bad you could get sick and die 1000s do

i could go on and on and on

the sad thing is gorden brown will take over he is just as bad

and all the other political parties are the same we dont have anyone who wants to make a change they are all as bad

I left active politics scene in my country many many years ago, disgusted. And after that, once I moved, seen from outside, I saw all European countries going through the same difficulties, and through very similar mismanagements.

Debates still labeled ?left vs right? are more for marketing than for real changes or differences? Clear example: several leftist governments had to make stricter immigration policies and voted for wars (Afghanistan and Iraq)...

Weird life? Years ago, if those in charge were making identical choices, they would have screamed accusing of fascism, imperialism, etc. etc. Now, they do the same.

It could not have been differently.

It could not have been more wrong than that.

Politics is far long gone. Now political choices are entirely economically driven. Partially it has always been, but after 1989 it deteriorated. And my repulsion increased.

I think I went out of topic? sorry for that. Too much disillusion. Better stop here.

john

when mrs thatcher was in power i thought she was the worst thing ever but i would gladly have her back

she was not afraid to say and do what she thought was right

blair has taken all the freedoms away from us

everyday the government ban 1 thing or another. Its not the gov place to tell people how to live there lives..and as for signing all our power away to europe he has done what germany has tried to do for decades, that for me makes him a traitor

My farther fought in world war II why!!!!!

so Blair could hand all our power to an unelected body of Europeans who are so corrupt there accounts have not been signed off for 11 years
