Thomas - Thanks never thought of that.

I start my journey from Koh Chang back to UK in 14 hours and need info from computer before i go.

There is no computer specialist, to my knowledge, on the island.

Windows XP?

First off

Start->Settings->Control Panel->Users Accounts

Tick "Use the welcome screen".

Then

go to c:documents and settings

You'll see your old account listed. Try logging in with that account - probably a blank password.

I'l try that again

Start->Settings->Control Panel->Users Accounts

Change the way users log on or off

Tick "use the welcome screen"

Also try this.

Start->Run

Type cmd (enter)

Type "control userpasswords2" (enter)

You should get a list of accounts - you can reset the passwords there & tick

"Users must enter a username & password to access this computer"

Try using "system restore" I think it in "Accessories-->System Tools--> System Restore--> choose "Restore my computer to an earlier time" You see "systems Restore Points with dates--> choose a restore point

Tip: get a USB external HD and make backups.
