On Wendesday i went to apply for a membership at Calf. fitness. I walk in there with headphone on my ears (i usually to that) i sat down and talk with the fitness staff. Then he asked me about what i was hearing at that time. I gave him my headphone. He turned to see me with very big eyes. "Really? You like it? You like this kind of Music?" he said. Guess what i was listening Linkin' park that time. I said of course i like them. he said "it's rarely to find people at my age listen to this kind of song, it's cool" yes i think so. I , personally think music are no boundary, not limit age. Sometimes my friends so surprise that i listen to very old songs. Why not? It's music my friends make this world beautiful. I LOVE MUSIC

B'Cool,

I couldn't agree more. I like some of today's music, music from when I grew up and music from before I was born. Music is universal and, if you can get past the lower fidelity or scratchiness of old recordings, cuts across time. It gets pretty tiresome to hear some younger people complain about "old people's music."

If you like to read books or novels, would you only read books written in the last few years and dismiss everyone from Shakespeare to Mailer as "old people's books?" That would seem pretty shallow, but when it comes to music, people say stuff like that.

Also, the best musicians of any era respect, study, learn from and are influenced by those who came before, even when they are making music that seems to break from the past. And great musicians who have been around for many years, tend to listen to what's new and different and sometimes appropriate some of it into their own style. In other words, they have open minds and souls.

In any genre of music, whether it's rock or hip hop or jazz, there is a lot of crap. But all genres also have some really great stuff. You don't have to like everything, but my favorite people are the ones who can enjoy something from just about every genre.
