If you got some problems with your ADSL speed......check your download speed/upload speed on a regular basis to make sure your internet service provider (ISP) is giving you the high speed access you paid for...Believe it or not...some people claim their internet access speed is very fast at first, but after a few months, it drops down. If this happens to you, simply....tell your ISP that your have performed multiple speed checks and report your results. In most cases, your speed should pick back up.here are the link..http://speed.io/index_en.html So...what are your results?Have a nice evening....Cheers;-)

the speed of yr internet is affected by how many users are on the t1 line at any given moment.

lets say your building has a t1 line... if there are 45 users sharing them the total speed is divided the # of users that share the cable... so thats why the internet is always faster at night - less people.

cool site though!!!!

Ping is a program that sends a series of packets over a network or the Internet to a specific computer in order to generate a response from that computer. The other computer responds with an acknowledgment that it received the packets. Ping was created to verify whether a specific computer on a network or the Internet exists and is connected.

Packets are the basic units of communication over a TCP/IP network. Devices on a TCP/IP network divide data into small pieces, allowing the network to accommodate various bandwidths, to allow for multiple routes to a destination, and to retransmit the pieces of data which are interrupted or lost. Each piece is a packet, a term interchangeable with datagram.

Since a few weeks TOT have started capping their speed at times. I've noticed sudden disconnections and when logging in to the router I've noticed upload speed was reduced to 160 kbps instead of 512k. Resetting the router 'fixes' it though it seems rather intentional as they have shifted part of their international connectivity away to TMnet in order to cut costs. Cheating on their customer appears to be the 2nd measure.

Of course they hide behind the 'a problem with the line, people working on it' excuse as usual. Lower upload speeds also do have a direct effect on your download speeds so be sure to check your router and complain if you see this happening ;-).
