Watching movies and reading internet stories thestereotypes of men and woman you see everywhere bothers me somehow.Like hot guys are alwaus assholes and the less handsome are nice and warmhearthed.Seriously, what looks have to do with personality and intellect? Are all hot guys stupid and the others make a better hubby?

What you think? i think there is a big difference between making the first impression and a actual relationship. And first impressions are always both sided. If some handsome guy resorts to his looks and posing to impress... ok, he will impress only those who are skindeep. If a ugly guy acts all nice and understanding just to get close to you, takking advantage of your broken hearth from your previous relationship then he sure will only land with those who need that.if some guy tries to impress you with his car and job then.. do the math.everyone will get what they deserveBut then again those are just the first impressions ... in a long term relationship it comes down to other things

Aahhh actually stereotypes there because a lot of the time they are true

like Russians drink a lot of vodka... yep. not me, but every other Russian i know.

Soooo when it comes to pretty people. not every hot girl/guy is a *****/a**hole...

But good looking people do get a lot of attention from men/women so they can get away with more BS. If that person let it get to their head they become arrogant and often very demanding. I've dated models and just beautiful girls who were exactly the stereotype. Girls who are not the "standard" hot tend to be sweeter and appreciate you more. That's my experience anyway.

I'm sure you as a beautiful BI girl should know this better than anyone. Do you think all these guys would bombard you with emails if you were lets say fat and less attractive? If you let it get to your head you'll become arrogant and start treating people like ****. You will also become jaded and forget that some people will want to talk to you for other reasons. You will demand more from your boyfriends because you are beautiful and every guy wants you.

Ultimately, that all goes well - till that person gets old and looses their looks. Then they have nothing more then their horrible personality and high expectations.

Thats my 2-cents anyway.

Stereotypes are FUNNY ! and don't sound so realistic.

I have worked with a German who doesn't drink, been with a blonde who is not dumb but a smartass, met a chinese who's not wise with his money or his biz, known a very handsome lad who believes in monogamy and has been so faithful to his wife and his wife only, dated an ok looking dude that I caught him sleeping with a ladyboy !

I don't believe in sterotypes cuz I dont wanna be a narrow-minded person. It means that you don't commit to learn more about him/her and judge the book not by its cover ...but by your very own imagination that seems so behind whats true!!

But...that doesn't mean that those stereotypes are not out there...there are..and they are !!!

My BF was born in Russia, i asked him about the Vodka thing hehe, he does not drink it but he said Vodka comes from Russia so its just natural they drink it there, same as italians eat pizza and asian eat rice.

Maybe also because people in Russia had a real tough time in the past... getting drunk might help to deal with hunger.

i dont really believe in Stereotypes, for me it always sound like an excuse.

You never hear positive things, like People with green eyes have a beautiful voice or something.

Stereotypes are created by haters sometimes. Look at that pretty blonde, she must be a *****. That handsome guy has no brains! That girls has a nice car, must have a rich daddy.

Hungry Russian? LOL you should go there, you'll find out about another Stereotype... Russians are rude.

Come back and tell me.

Stereotypes exist for a reason. They help people generalize groups.

Bad? Maybi.... but to some extent they are true.

If you live in a diverse culture where there are many groups it helps you deal with some really weird behavior that you don't understand. Yes it's bad to Stereotype people, I'm not defending it.

I think that if you move to a place like NY where there are 100's of different cultures and you interact with them on a daily basis you will start to Stereotype people. It will happen naturally.

Russians are rude,

Thai people eat spicy food.

Whatever makes it easier for you to understand them.

Then one day you will find a nice Russian or a Thai person that hates spicy food and you will be like wow you are different...

I agree with Digitalcat... stereotypes don't come from nowhere...

Chinese tourists act a certain way.

Japanese people act a different way.

Indians, Italians, Brits, Aussies and Yanks... we've ALL got national characteristics. Some good, some not so good.

And I know people will say, "But I met a quiet American or I met a generous Brit..." but IN GENERAL those are the exceptions.

If you saw a great white shark in the ocean, you wouldn't swim over just to disprove the stereotype of it being a maneater... we HAVE to live life according to generalities because life has shown us that trends DO exist.
