Hi,

I' m planning to travel somewhere in South Africa and South America, has anyone ever been any nice place/ country regarding to those countries during March or April? How?s the weather during those period?

I've heard that South Africa is one of the most unsafe countries in the world, but I'd like to know if I could travel one specific area where I could travel all these places such as a nice fall, safari, beach, etc. Has there anyone been to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe or any other part like Tanzania?

For South America, I'd really want to see Machu Picchu in Peru and Angel Falls in Venezuela, but Easter Island in Chile is mysterious that makes me traveling there as well. Are March & April good to travel to those countries?

Angel Falls is worth a day trip by airplane, Isla Los Roques is a very picturesque spot and great for a couple of days of diving and relaxing, dont go to Isla Margarita, not worth the money. Make a trip to Merida, which is great for trekking and cycling in the mountains (Pico Bolivar, Pico Humboldt etc).

Cant help you with south africa.Never been there - will probably go there for the next football championship if I get tickets..

Um...Easter Island is not IN Chile, it is IN the South Pacific, somewhere about 2000 miles off the coast of the South American continent.

South Africa is a tense travel country for both male and females. Don't go alone...trvel with a witness as it can be difficult.

South America.....safer on your own if your happy with that....Chile and Easter Island http://www.netaxs.com/~trance/rapanui.html ...are beautiful and Chilean people are the most beautiful people you will meet...highly recomended....San Tiago is a great city....very friendly....the culture is great like Thai.....let me know if you want help there...I have been a few times....good luck.

I was in Africa (Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, South Africa, Swaziland and Lesotho) last June to August. For most of my time in South Africa, from Johannesburg to Port Elizabeth, I was on a group tour, which was interesting, fun, exciting and safe. From PE to Cape Town I was on my own, and it was VERY scary - especially Port Elizabeth. Even the "safe" places were dangerous. So in South Africa, I would highly recommend that you join a tour - for safety's sake.

Victoria Falls is also spectacular and definitely worth a visit. In Tanzania, the northern part of Zanzibar has the most beautiful beaches I've ever seen.

You might take a tour that goes from Johannesburg to Victoria Falls, then back to Jo'burg, followed by a three day safari through Kruger National Park, for example.

A few years ago I traveled around South America at the time you are planning to go, and the weather was wonderful the entire time. Machu Picchu was very nice, as was Peru in general, although I found Lima to be scary. If you get a chance, do visit Argentina, which is one of my favorite countries, and in particular Mendoza, just over the border from Chile, which is my favorite city in the world.
