I've been working like crazy lately, especially this past week. Chinese New Year and Valentine's Day saw a huge spike for FotoBook, plus I am trying to get the mini FotoBook website finished before the end of the month to coincide with the Thailandfriends.com redesign. These things usually never work out as planned, but hey...at least I have a plan :)All of this was leading up to today actually. Jeab and I were supposed to go to the hospital on Saturday to find out our baby's gender, but work had us postpone it until...this afternoon. You might wondering why this journal is written in pink...until now! We are going to have a baby girl!! For some reason, I was happier about this than Jeab. Before we got pregnant, I was always saying that I wanted our first baby to be a boy...twin boys in a perfect world. Once she actually got pregnant, reality hit. I would switch between wanting a boy or a girl depending on the day or week. From my viewpoint today, girls are precious and boys are fun...so either way I'm really happy. Now I know (95% sure) that my first child will be a girl, and I'm in love. A couple nights ago I read a few excerpts of Mother Goose to Jeab's stomach, mostly for my own kicks. It hit me then how much of my mother is inside of me. I remember her reading these stories to me and getting really into it...making up voices for all the characters and really emphasizing the rhymes in her own Mother Goose way. I did the exact same thing and didn't want to stop. I told my mother about this on Valentine's Day, and I think it is beginning to start what I call that "second blood" connection that you find once you start to relive your parents' lives. My biggest worry about my parenting now is not having enough time to spend with my children. I feel like I'm making last ditch efforts to rebuild my work life so that I have more free time. I'm re-reading one of my favorite books, "The Four Hour Work Week" which has helped me tremendously. The first time I read it, I read it in 2 days. This time it's a much more difficult book to read as I'm dissecting each part of it and working with the book the way the author intended his readers to read it. Before I go off on a slightly unrelated rant...if you are running your own business or are interested in quitting the typical 9-5 job, read that book. If you want some others that came before that book, send me a PM.I'm off to go rollerblade with Yoma. I told him he's going to have a baby sister come July, but he didn't seem to care. He just wants his dinner and rollerblade.Hope everyone had a Happy Valentine's Day. I sure did Laughing

Congratulations to both you and Jeab again Rob....

When i finally meet my Mrs Right, i will be the happiest man in the world if i become a daddy to a little girl...!.!

I just feel sorry for any potential boyfriends in the future because my daughter will be so precious.!.!.!

Like one of my favourite guys at work an italian american New yorker (who has 2 daughters) says you only need to shoot 1 boyfriend, before the whole neighbourhood knows not to mess around with your daughters - AGREED.!

Excellent news mate - fantastic.!

and most importantly - WELL DONE :o)

girls are great. But you have the teenage years to look forward to. I am starting a company for this purpose, building tall stone towers in remote areas surrounded by bears and wolves. If you want to order one in advance, pm me.

Congrats Rob.

I read The 4 Hour Work Week a few months ago. After I read one of the chapters I booked a one way ticket to Thailand. Hence, why I am coming to live there, haha.

I would recommend that book to anyone. One of the best books I have ever read, if not the best. I've also found out that there was a newer version released not that long ago with an extra hundred pages.

Thanks for all the comments, everyone. We have a lot to look forward to.

Hazo, that's great to hear. The book is awesome...and I'm really working on a lot of the things he writes...though I'm only implementing about 10% of it at the moment...

Hey congrats to you and Jeab - thats great news! I have two girls and a boy, and my eldest daughter turns 14 on Wednesday (Iain...can I get in an urgent order please?)

My youngest daughter turns 5 in July and is just SOOOOOO cute...but all dads think of their daughters like that...my son at nearly 12 is of course an equal in the eyes of a proud dad, but the girls are always just so special.

You are obvioulsy a very proud and clucky dad to be.
