It doesn't help that the GBP, or the Euro has weakened against the Baht. It makes everything more expensive before even starting to spend.

Lunch at Khaosan here in Samui: Chicken with chilli and basil, with steamed rice, and a coconut shake: 160 THB.

Last night, dinner for five at Tum zaab: 1310 THB,including drinks and dessert, and we pigged out.

Going by your previous food journals AAAum, its a wonder your credit card has not been confiscated. :-)

If I am trying to save Money or stay to a budget...

It is cash only!!!! never pull out the credit card...maybe even leave it at home.

Monies to be spent that day ...go into my pocket

and they come out...for...each ... item ...all ...day ...long :(

but it works usually for me :)

I am very bad at spending as well. I normally empty my account no matter how much I earn!

The very effective way that I have done throughout the past 3 years, and had been quite successful was to put the money in a fixed account once u get paid, say 10 - 15% ur salary first. Then splurge on the rest of the money in the account!

I did save up enough to do a lot of things during the past 3 years; have Lasic surgery, pay my way to the UK, and support myself for 4 months without a job. But I'm back to close to zero again... hahaha!

Last year, I managed to save around 30% of my salary each month for close to 6 months before I resigned from the job. I will never be able to save up that amount of money, if I spend before I save. But because I save before I spend, the money is already kept safe in the bank before I get a chance to touch it.

I hope this is useful for u. Anything is possible, if u find the trick that works for u! Soo soo na! ^_^
