Its important about the lives. How present PM comes in power in Thailand, I would like to request all to save lives to save people. perhaps some protect just wants free and immediate elections? Perhaps they knows that freedom is important enough to die for?I hate some reds do something very stong to sodier..becoz my dad he is sodier..every night i sleep with a tear when saw people fight ...and i think all thai people think the same its very sadness.

I don't know why people want to die for this policies thing. I hate when people fighting people..The media try to claiming that some red shirts are terrorists and my PM said like that also.,and some said most people who joined the protests are their for money..To risk their lives, for some money? If that's the case, then Téhailand has a serious problem. Many years before the dictator blames the Thammasat University students for rebellion and being communist then use deadly force. Today the PM blame the Red Shirts for terrorsist and uses deadly force. Wow I amazed Thailand never changed. If we are just want election is that too hard?I just want to see the land of smile like before....Y_Y

Darling, I know you worry a lot about your dad and saddened by what is happening to your country.

I truly hope the fightings stop and peace returns to your country soon.

Peace for Thailand.

definition of terrorism from http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/terrorist

1. a person, usually a member of a group, who uses or advocates terrorism.

2. a person who terrorizes or frightens others.

3. (formerly) a member of a political group in russia aiming at the demoralization of the government by terror.

this isn't what the red shirts are doing? lots of governments come to power by political deals after elections. see how they are doing it in the UK after the last elections. lots of people didn't vote for the Liberal Democrats but they are the party with the political power now. look out for the red shirts to hold london to ransom.......NOT. they would be run off the streets after they finished their march thru the streets. democracy allows you to protest but not to hold cities and residents to ransom.

great pics and to look on the bright side, at least the bangkok traffic problem seems better.

red shirts are terrorists.just look at the fear, and treatment the regular population is going threw.I don't see police and the army burning down innocent bystanders shops and lobbing m72 grenades at people just trying to goto work.

They have been looting shops and houses in my street in the Rajaprasong area, taking everything they can, and breaking into ATM machines.

The reds have been showing their true colours this week, and in my eyes have become an uncontrollable mob.

They smashed the window of the shop next to ours, the guard ran out to stop them, and they shot at him.

They were leading a good peaceful protest, then they turned it violent, much like it did last Sonkran in 2009, when they burnt busses and caused havoc.

Terrorists? Yes I'd say they have gone that far.

Johnno, there is a lot of differences between the political deal making of UK and Thailand.

It would be equivalent to the Chief of the UK Armed Forces, arm twisting the parties on a political deal.

As for Thailand, it is easy to play the blame game especially when your businesses have suffered or you have lost your job.

But it will not solve this crisis.

There are serious social and economic issues facing many of the rural thais.

In any case, regardless of what political or tragic events that have taken place, it is now imperative for all sides to find a political solution to this crisis before things get out of control.

No one wins when Thailand ends up in a civil war.

I'm sorry Cosmo, but now there are large groups of so called Reds that have formed armed mobs and they are travelling around the city looting at their own will. Mainly ATM machines and high end shops.

Its no longer a protest, but proper civil unrest by criminals.

Beej: My aunt's family (what you would deemed part of the Elite) lives in Bangkok and my girlfriend lives in Korat.

I hear daily news from both sides about what is happening too....and it does concern me a lot about where this is heading.

**Hope some people still remember this sentence**

I don't take side, no matter colour they are, but killing/ war is definitely not a solution. It's sad to see THAI PEOPLE KILLING EACH OTHER.....

Even mother of nature is sad for this, look up in the sky..how sad it is!
