I love a lot my country, and the Belgium People.. but seems we have among the worst "group behaviour" of  our politicians in the world... They spoil the money:

The only reading key to understand actual Belgium polituc, is just the endless multiplication of the "nomenklatura" members, our "leaders".... No less, no more...

On the fields, German, dutch and french speaking citizens match very very good...

The politicians, just by pushing people against each other, by placing stupid 4 languages borders in only 300 km long country, with small 10 million people, did succeed up to now by multiplying by 3 the number of ministers and deputees!

In last 40 years, to solve language "problems", they grow from 15 to 45 ministeries (each with thousands of "workers").. and from 2 to 7 parliaments (total 503 deputees.. just same as USA with 300 million people!).

Add to this 10 provinces and more than 500 "local city halls"...

The Belgium governement eat all the taxes income... and nothing remain for basic public services as school, roads, police...

Of course, this too large "chiefs" number result in bad and un-efficient management!

1 ministery for 200 000 people, this is a stupid world guiness record....

Ministers and deputees told us we will have to work more over 65 years to pay retired money, but they vote themselves full retired money after 52 years old and 20 years services...

Now, they feel again jobless and will again increase their numbers... This is the reason of the "crisis" and this is why they keep negociations secret: they do nost want people to know they just hesitate for "who will have what" !

The only true solution is to get back to maximum 15 ministeries and, why not, a unique parliament, and to allow people to receive public services in their own language within the unique entire small Belgium territory!!!!! This is easily possible with computers and video-conferences in all cityhalls !

Can we dream about just good management???

This journal from a disapointed Belgium "citizen" who speaks french - dutch - german and english... and who is boring of paying one of the highst taxes level in the world, for a nonsense return...

Please spread this journal topic as far and as much as you can: maybe the "feeling stupid" reaction will help to change actual Belgium financial suicide....

Taan, i really hope i will not have to work more, but not sure... anyway, as i ilke my job, this is not a major fear for me ...

they did not yet build the new governement 100 days after elections.. this is crazy but true...

In everydaylife people match each other without major problems

But politicians try to push people againts each other, saying dutch people have better economy now, and pay for the other ones! Since 40 years, they divide the country in 3 major parts and multiply ministeries and deputies number by 3..

This cost a lot of money, just for bad managementn and no money remain for basic services as schools...

The number of ministers and deputees is really 3 times too much... and they will now do more...

Belgium used to be one of the leading countries in the world for holding wars in. Perhaps by hiring out Belgium to various countries to settle their disputes in, enough revenue will be created to solve this crisis...

He he, good idea... Belgium army was a memeber of Yougoslavia "peace" forces, and did not succeed stoppping the disaster...

I more meant Belgium being used as the venue for wars. No need for Belgians to take part.

@ Stramash: yes, this is true... Our "model" is one ef the worst regarding taxes and communities political harmony, but on the fields, where people lives, there is absolutely no troubles. All troubles are only in the newspapers.. This is the paradox.. Come and visit Belgium and you will see by yourself that people are friendly, and that the slim ones do not eat fries.. he he..
