Christmas trees are everywhere in Thailand, despite the country being 90+ percent Buddhist. Thais are just cool like that...if it's a fun holiday, they are happy to join the party.

My best friend and I started this thing a few years ago where we make a culture "fusion" of sorts. Anytime we are within 10 feet of a Christmas tree (give or take a bit depending on tree size), we stop, we connect our own hands together over our heads in the shape of a Christmas tree, and bow (äËÇé) to the tree.

The reactions are hilarious. I wish I could capture them on film one of these years, but the Thais don't know what to do. They either laugh uncontrollably or freak out and don't know what to do. If you are a "ting tong farang" and enjoy this sort of thing, try it out (with a very serious face). The reactions are priceless.
