Votes may or may not come back. We're getting about a 50/50 split on that. Vote whores want them back and everybody else is glad they're gone.

If they do come back it will probably be as something a bit more fun than just clicking on someone and voting for them. What does that mean anyway? And does it detract from the overall idea if you just get a group of friends who sit there and click on each other every day trying to make it onto the Top Guys or Girls list?

I do believe that the TF old version was down one reason because of those vote whores, if you still remember those top girls and guys (we all know that they done vote whoring..and of course it's not all of them) on the old version ..they looked just horrible!

I never really liked voting. It always felt like something that I *had* to do so that I didn't offend anyone. It's a lot like kissing boobies in that sense.

Voting did keep a group of people coming back to the site daily. With a 50/50 split on the number of people that miss it, or don't, I'd venture to say that is a big group of people that should be considered. What is the male to female ratio of complaints about it being gone?

How many people will leave the site because that feature is gone, and how many new members will join because it is not a feature of the site? For as long as voting has been a feature of this site, you're going to be hard pressed to find any members that quit because of the voting. Now lets see how many quit because it's not there.

So far it's been predominately men who have expressed an interest in returning the voting functionality.

One of the factors we took into consideration in making the decision was who was doing it and what else they did on the site. In other words, taking a sample of who was voting over a given period of time and then taking a look at how much they posted to the message boards, wrote journals, etc.

Basically what we saw was:

1. No real correlation between vote receiving and other participation on the site. In other words, most of the top vote receivers either hadn't logged in for a long time and/or they had not written a journal or a forum post for a considerable time period.

2. No real correlation between voting and other participation on the site. People who were regular voters didn't necessarily post journals or forums more or less than people who didn't vote.

On top of that the other trend we saw was that it was the same people voting for the same people day in and day out. In fact, it even raised some suspicion that some people had automated their voting as it occurred roughly the same time every day, was for the same people, and no other activity on the site was noted. In other words, visit a profile with no referring site, vote, visit the next profile with no referring site, vote, etc.

There's no reason you shouldn't be able to. I can see my recent visitors and I looked on a test account and can see them even as a regular member. Are you looking to the bottom of the left hand column on your profile?

There's no limit at 7. I show the last 30 on mine. I think part of it has to do with the last X within a given timeframe (i.e. like the last week).

Meh... complain about voting online but when it comes to politics voting most of people just don't give a **** about it. Oh.... I was not target at farang - just saying in general. Well, I actually have too much free time so just trolling around.

PS : I not like vote thingies on TF old version anyway. WHAT FOR?
