Not long before I came to Thailand for the first time I met a girl in my town and it looked like it had the potential to be a long term thing, when I came back I was waxing lyrical about Thailand and so I returned with her in June but 3 weeks together night and day exposed us different people with different goals in life and so we broke up in July. We had some wild times together in the sack and it was a shame to let that go so we kept seeing each other for benefits right up until a couple of weeks back, all of a sudden she closed down contact whereas normally she would ring me every day. I spoke to her today and my suspicions were correct that she's started dating again and doesn't want to hook up anymore but still wants me as a friend.

Part of me is massively gutted as I really thought she was going to be the one but at the same time I'm more focused now on my April trip to Thailand and finally at the third time of asking I'll be there as a 100% single man! I saw her being as my last real shot at happiness in the UK, once I'd been to Thailand the 1st time I told myself that if things didn't work out with her that I'd need to seriously consider making a fresh start in pastures new and now I'm going to have to see if I can make it happen.

Well every end is a start of something new. Heads up!

Nothing against the girl but it sounds like whatever your next relationship will be you'll have a better perspective on life.

yep just trying to get focused on my trip in April now, heading to Udon first and a Thai girl my workmate met whilst he was out there in January has messaged me on facebook and wants me to meet all her friends when I get over there so as one door closes hopefully another will open down the line.
