:D If you're living or travelling in Thailand this time, you will find this kind of fruit in the local market or supermarket. It's mangosteen or the "Queen of Fruit" :)

Here is the descrption from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Purple_mangosteen

"The purple mangosteen (Garcinia mangostana), colloquially known simply as mangosteen, is a tropical evergreen tree believed to have originated in the Sunda Islands and the Moluccas of Indonesia. The tree grows from 7 to 25 m (20–80 ft) tall. The rind (exocarp) of the fruit, which is not edible, is a deep reddish purple when ripe. The fragrant edible flesh that surrounds each seed is botanically endocarp, i.e. the inner layer of the ovary.[1] It is sweet and tangy, juicy, and somewhat fibrous."

Ok let eat mangosteen first and go back to read its detail later ;-) :P

1. Hold mangosteen with you handMaungKood02.jpg

2. Use your thumb press its bottom until its rind cracks like the pictureMaungKood03.jpg

3. After that its rind should look like thisMaungKood04.jpg

4. Use your thumb and index finger squeeze the neck (on a stick) then peel its rind like the pictureMaungKood05.jpg

5. Peel the rind offMaungKood06.jpg

6. You will eat mangosteen easily and you can hold its stick so your hand won't touch its rasin & color which it's hard to washMaungKood07.jpg
