Worse than copied software

Our company in Europe is doing software, so I totally agree that the use of copied software is not ok, not fair, not legal.

But I also see how things are working in Thailand and that here sometimes some views have to be adjusted, especially if for private usage.

A Thai friend of mine lately got some problems downloading and using some design tool. For me it looked like that a company now requesting/pushing to buy an overpriced license for this tool even put the software itself in internet with some spymodules included.

Hmm.. as said i dont like copied software but this way of making money is even worse.....

a lot of software, especially games, is wayyyyy over priced so you can hardly blame folk for down loading pirate versions. I will dl hacked copies of games to test them out, then if it is any good, will buy the real thing. Only hack I use and have kept is Ableton

There are so many crap pieces of software out, that are highly deceptive in their advertising claims, that I try out the programs in full retail mode before I will license anything for a client.

There is not one piece of software that lives up to the hype presented by their advertising department. There are so many programs that are on the market that are not even complete, and working properly, that it is too dangerous licensing a program when you don't even know if it will meet your company needs, let alone if it will actually work.
