TF Book Club / Reading Group

Well it has proved a bit difficult to drum up support/interest for a Book Club on TF so I've signed up (today) for an online reading group in the Guadian newspaper. Hopefully other members of the Book Group will join up.

Basically they select a book a month ... people in the group read it and give their reviews/opinions/feedback on the book online. However, if members of the TF Book Club don't like the book selected I'd be more than happy to have a vote/select an alternative title each month !!

This month's book was Farhenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury .... which is a "classic" from about 50 or 60 years ago .... but it's supposed to be read/finished by 5th Septmber. Not too much time, but it's a fairly short book and pretty easily read !!

here's the link .... http://www.guardian.co.uk/books/2011/aug/22/reading-group-fahrenheit-451-ray-bradbury?INTCMP=SRCH

and the book is available in BKK here .... https://bookweb.kinokuniya.co.jp/guest/cgi-bin/bookseaohb.cgi?KEYWORD=+%46%61%68%72%65%6E%68%65%69%74+%34%35%31&AREA=07

i bought the 208 baht copy !!!

u also need to be registered to comment in the discussion .... https://id.guardian.co.uk/register

hope to see U there !!!

and if we can't get enough ppl interested in this months book at such short notice, hopefully we can get sufficient numbers for next months title !!

I've got a good book for you.

Dark Tourist.

It's Dom Joly (of Trigger Happy TV fame) travelling to macabre and unusual places - North Korea' date=' Lebanon, Iran. I read it in two days.[/quote']

haven't seen Trigger Happy or heard of Dom Joly, but the book looks like an interesting read ... cheers !!
