THERE IS NO EXCUSE.

I had signed up and attended a TF event which had been announced for tonight:

"And don't forget Tengo hambre, tengo sed! on SATURDAY (Neung take note!!) 29th September, taking place at what is now Bangkok's 5th best international restaurant (kudos to Dave here - considering the reviews CB used to get a few years ago, this really shows the work he (and his staff) have put in).

There will be free beer and margaritas (limited supply come early) and some nibbles too (NIBBLES NOT NIPPLES ROB!!)."

Tonight, around 7:00pm at home i have checked the TF forums, the event page on TF and on facebook, to see who else is coming and if there are any else news.

Then i took a taxi and arrived around 8:30pm at Charly Browns Mexican restaurant at Sukhumvit 11. Surprisingly, i was the only attendee and Dave, the owner of Charly Browns told me that the event has been canceled / eg the event's host is not coming. WOW, what a surprise !!!

Well, as i was there at Dave's nice Mexican restaurant already (not to mention, the fifth best restaurant in Bangkok!), i had a few beers and some food by myself, sitting there alone and lonely.

Around 9:30-10:00pm some other TFer arrived (Tonia, Chatty, Ciaran, Querida, Steve, some other girls, at the end lets say we were around 15 people in total).

Finally we had a real good time all together and the 'party' was a real good fun. And at the end i have asked for the bill and paid my food and my drinks by myself.

The guy who has announced this event and did not turn up by himself, not canceled the event and not called me or either send an sms (he has got my mobile phone number) should simply **** OFF AND GO TO HELL.

Not to mention that this was his second 'welcome party' where he didnt turn up or even left a message.

THERE IS NO EXCUSE AT ALL. NOT ANY.

About 20 years ago, I organized a (wanted by potential participants) event and no one except for myself showed up. Tant pis, as the French say. But I never experienced that the organizer of an event did not show up and also did not care to notify confirmed participants. So your headline is 120% correct! Lucky for you that the evening still turned out to be a good one!

I submitted apologies to all I could Hayko. Did not activate my mobile till late last night. I was not on TF yesterday but did post on fb re being ill (2 posts on fb during day hardly constitute 'being busy on fb').

I suffered a Malloy-Weisz tear from rupturing small blood vessels in oesophagus and was vomiting blood for several hours (if this constitutes 'no excuse at all', I will ensure that next time I am ill, I will arrange to meet with you and puke on your head) ; )

I pm'd Dave to advise I could not attend and asked him to ensure that there were some pitchers of beers and margaritas and I would settle up for these during the week. Where you get the 'not to mention that this was his second 'welcome party' where he didnt turn up or even left a message.' bit I have no idea at all. As I only arrived Wednesday evening, when was this fabled 'first party' meant to have happened? I had intended to post a further apology here this morning but, like a menstruating *****, your complaints appeared first.

Once again, I offer apologies...

Ugh...sorry to hear that. While it does suck that you couldn't attend your own event, puking up blood or giving birth are the only things that can let you off the hook. You're lucky you had one of them, because the punishment that Bill gives is far more painful than childbirth, and far more scary than puking up blood.

Sorry to all that felt stood up, and an even bigger sorry to Iain. Get well soon.

have to give huge kudos to hotel staff here. They knew I was ill and phoned mid evening to see if I could eat, then brought up some French toast and a fruit shake. Feel about 90% this morning though throat feels like I have been gargling sandpaper!

I have to take full responsibility for the illness though - well shared with Dave Kalin actually. Friday's session was intense and when I woke up with a hangover Saturday late morning, I went down for lunch and had kang kiew wan; maybe not the best choice when your stomach feels delicate!

Had contacted as many people as I could, both last night and this morning, to apologise but Hayko had jumped the gun before I got to him. But hey ho, what can you do?

So you have been warned ;-)

I really enjoyed to see some TFers (and a nice non-TFer too). What's disturbing is that in fact none of those present ever saw Iain in real life. Why this? Is he Dave's socket puppet or even TF's own little Emmanuel Goldstein?

Anyway, hope he feels better today!

No, completely real. Met Kus and Tonia for lunch today. Sorry missed you Hube - pm me your Thai number and we'll grab a beer at some point

Take a tip and get some antiseptic to gargle with mate. All the s**t in the air in BKK, combined with the air con in the hotels will only prolong your throat probs.

Been an amalgamation of things. Arsehole next to me on plane to Dubai coughed and sneezed for 7 hours, the lovely Bangkok air, and the major puking session tomorrow. Smoking like a chimney does not help either!! Going to grab some throat gargle stuff and maybe some antibiotics tomorrow..

I couldn't believe what I've done on Saturday night. I went to a funeral where is freaking far from the party area. I stucked in bad traffic since 2PM. I skipped my lunch until I came back to Rama 9 after the funeral with my friends. So I had to fill up my stomach. Then drove to CB. to meet you p'Iain, even I was so tried, I really wanted to go home. I met p'Chang and Heyko, when they told me the host didn't show up, I thought it was a joke. However, meeting p'Kus and Tonia and the TFers could made me feel better I find out that you didn't show up.

Sorry for what I wrote, I have no intention to blame you. I just wanna say I had intention to join the party. I mean I should have gone home in that condition, but what I chose was joining your party.

I think you get better now after I saw the post on FB.

Well good luck!!

So sorry to hear, Neung...

At the time you went to the funeral, Emmanuel Goldstein knew and decided already that he won't attend his own party. He just gave a **** us, not informing anybody. Even when he had internet access and mobile phone numbers.

As mentioned before on FB, he is a lightweight *****.

Emmanuel Goldstein suffered from a hangover, he was out the night before with Ken Tucky (which i personally met in real life before and tend to believe his words).

So sorry to hear Emmanuel Goldstein just got sick when his own party started on saturday at 8:00pm sharp.

It happened like a flash from a light blue sky.

Emmanuel Goldstein should have invited us for friday night to Glow then.
